Stinespring?
I think it's odd that Stinespring hasn't been seriously mentioned as a candidate for HC by media, etc. Wouldn't a Stinespring HC / Zohn Burden OC and Blackwell DC be a pretty interesting scenario?

You would think but with our Admin, I dont get my hopes up. Looking more and more like the fan base is going to disappointed in our hire with what some of the chirps are sounding like around the board.

I wouldnt love it, and wouldnt hate it. If we fail to get any of our top candidates, which its apparently looking like might be the case, might as well give Stinespring a shot. He seems about as qualified as Marcus Freeman to me and can recruit our territory.

I think the fact that he was hired put BW on notice. He certainly would be a HC candidate for most schools at our level. The trio I mentioned is intriguing to me. Great recruiting and x/o prowess.

No one here speaks for the fanbase. C'mon, you're smarter than that.

If Rahne is the guy it is difficult to see how that could possibly be a disappointment as he is the OC for top ten program that was top ten even after losing a bunch on the offensive side of the ball this season.

He will have connections at the highest level from which to draw coaches, and he will likely be smart enough to grab a guy that has 757 ties for his staff.

Stinespring may not want to be a head coach. He may be happy taking the title of recruiting coordinator.

Pretty much. I think some of the happiest people I know are those that got close enough to promotion to dept head or director but realized they liked doing their job because they were damn good at it. The Peter Principle is very real.

It’s not Bobby Wilder.

The more I learn about Rahne, the better I like the hire. It doesnt sizzle at first glance, but I think he has a chance to do well. A lot will depend on who he brings with him. I do like the idea of him bringing back Burden if he can. Would love to see him keep Blackwell. If he could have Burden, Blackwell and Stinespring all on staff, that would be pretty awesome and I would be excited for that. Especially if he could hold that team together a few years.

Does for me. Checks a lot of the boxes. Smart guy. Knows area. Can recruit. Personable and someone that can be a good representative of the program.

What the hell makes you think you’re a damn expert? JC, I sat behind you several times during the first few seasons. You did not know the the rule differences between college and pro football. And you constantly criticized our players. Relentlessly. You showed over and over again a complete lack of understanding of football.

It may take a few years to play out, but this has all the appearances of a home run hire to me

Hell, based on this board posts and the polling we wanted at least a coordinator, not a position coach, hopefully with FBS experience, but maybe high end FCS. Maybe even a good G5 coordinator!

We got a cerebral coach with a proven track record developing quarterbacks
We got a personable coach that has a reputation for recruiting.
What we got is a P5 coordinator, from a top 10 program, who with a young group, like ODU had (losing a lot from 2018), but unlike ODU, had the 22nd best offense in the Nation, against some of the top competition in the Nation.

Who WOULD have made you excited?

This is the least surprising thing I have ever read on this board.
