They conveniently clipped out the “, it’s a nightmare.” from the photo.

No league to blame. Their Massey should be 50 points better just for that.

It's not like they're gonna invest in a buyout and another lengthy head coach's contract three years before cutting the program. Maybe they could show Edsall the door and hire an unpaid intern.

You mean the players aren't excited for this new world that the program is going into?
I'm shocked.
Hey, at least now we can officially confirm that the UConn football players are smarter than the UConn fanbase, who still seem intent to tell everyone how good independence will be for them.

If UConn will pay us $5 million for a game at the Liberty Bowl, I think we should consider it.

Who is broadcasting UCONN football? If they are not on tv then that is a bigger blow to their football program than being independent.

All the expectations are that they'll sign a deal with SNY, a regional network which had previously paid $1M+ for UConn WBB.
Pros: they're on somewhere, and it is familiar and accessible for the fanbase. Remember, back in March when the AAC-ESPN deal was announced, UConn President Herbst, loudly complained "Connecticut residents can't figure out streaming services!!!"
Cons: That sure doesn't help recruiting outside New England...

They might as go FCS now. They just killed any momentum they had for recruiting.

Where did UConn have momentum in recruiting. If your talking MB, WB, Olympic sports then your right. If your talking FB with 15 players in the transfer portal and the FB program in a downward flaming spiral, then I guess your right to.
When UConn straightens out their FB scheduling mess in a few years with regional ACC and B-10 games on the schedule, regional MAC teams, a buy game or 2 for the money, and filler independent games with Army, UMass, Liberty, BYU, and NMST, and an FCS game they might be alright with 5 and 6 win seasons.

Wonder how ESPN really feels about uconn now after calling out AAC's new tv deal and than jumping ship to a conference that doesn't sponsor football.
