Honestly I think Heather will be just fine. She hired Creighton, weathered the HBO storm and now she is in person witnessing the third bowl appearance of EMU in four years. Her assistant Christian Spears, was in charge of scheduling and is extremely responsible for the 3 game winning streak vs. the Big Ten. I'm pretty sure Heather will be quite sanguine with her job performance at EMU as she should be and treat Wetherbee's comments as negligible in importance.

Reporters in the room turned the last couple minutes into talking about MSU and Dantonio... Even if you're a P5 team, you can still be overshadowed by another, bigger P5 team.

Spot on Frank!

Cut four sports, install a $1,000,000 scoreboard and then blame it on a woman. Stand up guy.

RE: Bowl Game Questions/Thoughts
There were several Maybe Significant Things that I'm taking away from the press conference:

Pitt wasn't together when the bowl was announced; they haven’t been together since it was announced; in the 3 days / 4 nights AFTER the announcement, their head coach hasn't really watched tape (only enough to have a false impression of our best player); and my spidey-sense says he's being waaaaaaaay too adamant that none of his best players are going to sit out of the game.

I think Pitt is extremely good on D, better than the UK unit, but they don't have an offensive player that matches either Bowden Jr, Wilson, or Rose, maybe even Smoke. If our offense can get to 30, we can win.

Do we have a single player on the roster that Pitt offered? Narduzzi can scoff at CC's "misfit" comment all he wants, but it is what it is -- one of these teams is made up of players that P5 teams took little interest in. There's no more powerful identity in sports than the one EMU has built around this decade. The B1G wins are an expression of that. When only one team wants blood, the speed/size advantage is neutralized. Let's go.

Enjoyed your Post!!

I believein order to win we have to hope they overlook us. If Pitt comes ready to play, we could be in for a loooong day.

Let's go Eagles!

Good post.

Pitt definitely has a strong defense. #2 in the country in sacks... gulp.

However, they don't run the ball well at all. They have even fewer yards per game than we do. For reference, rushing YPG: Pitt - 120.7, EMU 121.9.

RE: Bowl Game Questions/Thoughts
Great post Russ H! If we want to have any chance our OL has to play there game of the year! Pitts D is stout, can really rush the QB! The offense running the ball isn't scary, but remember we're 112Th against the run! We're 10 point underdogs, so we've to play like we did against Illinois! Glass has to not throw any interceptions, and we've to find a running game, or it can get really ugly fast, because a great pass rush versus a one dimensional offense is not good period! Pitt isn't happy to be in this bowl game folks, they feel they're simply better then a average MAC school! Only John Branham Jr was offered by Pitt, and he was almost a 4 star recruit, just shy of the number! Grissom and Branham Jr are the only two high school players Pitt even looked at on our team, and they offered only ONE! They don't respect us...…..lets shock em EMU!

I hope they are arrogant.

Their biggest win was by 10 points. They beat Delaware 17-14 and Ohio 20-10. They aren't a powerhouse who can overlook anyone.

We are America's football underdogs. The program laughed at and left for dead. We have clawed our way back and we still get no respect. Time to show Pitt we are moving up the football food chain.

Spot on, totally agree. My take away was that Narduzzi doesnt want to be there. Creighton was right for the misfit comment and Narduzzi wasnt having any of it. I love it. Go Eagles

Of course Narduzzi wants to be in Detroit. Pitt recruits metro Detroit and Narduzzi, being a Michigan State guy would like to put on a good show for potential recruits. His players may not be too thrilled about being in Detroit in December but I am sure the Pitt coaching staff sees this as a recruiting trip. EMU players are thrilled to be anywhere at this point so you may see Eastern get off to a spirited start before Pitt gets their bearings. Should be a close game.

Narduzzi recruits SE michigan? lol Pitt has 1 player (a kicker) from Michigan on its roster. You're saying he wants to be here to pander to his recruiting base.... wow
