Brilliant. Who the hell made that effing decision?

Veatch is a new AD. Him 'leading' the search process is a big red flag for me.

Silverfield is older than I thought he was. He looked more composed and together than the AD who quite frankly looked like he was coming off a 2-day drunk.

Norvell kept Dickey around off Fuente's staff for some continuity.

If they don't take the interim tag of SIlverfield hopefully something like that could be 'negotiated'.

Whatever they do they need to get it done and not **** around past next Sunday. They have known this was going to happen. Get it done. No excuses.

I'm not saying I'm for it or against it.

I just hope it works out if that's what happens.

My main concern is hiring an "offensive guru" who has never called plays in his entire career.

I liked him from what I saw at the press conference.

Actually the perfect result would be hiring the guy that the players want and having continuity (keeping some of our other assistants including Fuller) and keeping it rolling as it has been.

I will support him fully, I just hope it works out. This stuff is largely a crapshoot.

I was impressed with Laird and Ryan. Hope we get the best man for the job. But it’s going to be hard to beat out Ryan.

Silverfield is talking like he is already the new head coach. He speaks like he has a plan laid out for how the program can continue to be a success and I like what I hear.

One, why do you and a couple of others insist that we used a search committee for Norvell? We didn't. Two, why use a search committee if you already have identified the top 1, 2 or at most 3 candidates?

So to answer your question; the same group that identified and hired Norvell. Them.

Tubby - in house
Penny - in house

Porter - search committee sort of, financed by Fred Smith, went against recommendation of Jerry Gray
Fuente - Full blown search committee, recommended McElwain, Shirley wanted Fuente
Norvell - in house

Nice that he feels that way.....but, Veatch owes it to everyone that they do an extensive search and......this is now a PRIME COACHING OPPORTUNITY for every coach in the USA wanting to move up. Just look at what happened to Fuente and Norvell. We have momentum and traction.
