With Fields throwing two INTs last night it means Crum is the only QB in country to have more than 17 passing TDs and 2 or fewer picks. Logan Bonner from Arkansas St has the highest amount of TDs with fewer picks than Crum having 10 TDs to 1 pick. Crum finished with 20 TDs and 2 picks.

RE: Frisco Bowl - KSU vs. USU
Clemson and Ohio State were evenly matched, but LSU made Oklahoma look like a weak MAC team. Oklahoma was the beneficiary of being in a fairly week conference. They were overrated in the final polls, With most of the better players now going to about a half-dozen schools, the difference between those schools and the bottom of the Top 25 is much greater than the distance between the bottom of the Top 25 and the typical mid-major. I can't recall the top division, no matter what is has been called (University division, DI, DIA, FBS, BCS, Power 5), ever being so top-heavy. It reminds me of the NBA where you go through months and months when you know it is going to come down to only a small handful that have any real chance. I think that is one reason why the NFL is the most popular sport. The NFL has the most parity, relatively speaking.

Very true - it seems like the recruiting classes of those top seven or eight teams translate into too much skill and depth for anyone else. Harbaugh acted chagrined when a reporter asked about why he can't beat OSU an the answer is obvious there's a talent gap that goes back to Urban Meyer who knew the kinds of players he would need to compete with SEC teams. I wish we had more money games against the power teams that aren't stacked with talent

College sports in general are getting like that. Wrestling is a joke as far as parity is concerned. Same with gymnastics. Basketball (at least on the men’s side) is a little better. Probably because the best players only play for one year. That will change soon. Pro basketball should be more balanced but I think the game is unique in how one or two players can dominate. Even with a salary cap teams can compete with two superstars and 13 other role players. No other professional sport is like that. Unfortunately there are not 60 superstars to be spread out among 30 teams. Pro basketball has always been like that. I remember rooting for the old Cincinnati Royals (now the Sacramento Kings) when they had Oscar Robertson, Jerry Lucas, Jack Twyman along with 3 decent players Adrian Smith, Happy Hairston and Wayne Embry. With Russell and Chamberlain in the league they never even came close to a championship. Just seems to be the nature of the sport.

They'll blame the refs but it saved them from facing JB

In my mind the only questionable call was calling the pass incomplete nullifying the defensive touchdown. It was close though and it actually ended up helping OSU as they took the lead later in the game with less time to hold on. They blew it when they had 2nd and 4 at Clemson’s 45 and tried to get cute by running Dobbins on a sweep (with a bum ankle) and lost a yard. Left them with a tough 3rd down which they didn’t make leaving 3 minutes for Clemson. Two plays in between the tackles and a first down might have done the job.

Good points. I mentioned this before, but according to an ESPN report I saw after the early signing , Ohio State signed more Top 100 recruits than the rest of the Big Ten combined. And 5 schools signed a majority of the 5 star recruits - Ohio State, Alabama, LSU, Clemson and Georgia. As a Kent State fan, I have a better chance of seeing them win the MAC than the fans of about half or more of the Big Ten schools do of having their team win their conference.

Thanks, Older and Older. Good publicity for the program. I tried telling a friend about the game and Crum's performance, but being an Ohio State fan he just wasn't at all interested. Typical.

The Monday after the game the Cribbs's devouted the first few minutes of their show to talk about the game. Thought that was good local exposure.

Yes, Josh has been a great ambassador for us and with him being somewhat local it certainly helps.

Maybe they’ll run one like we did for Dri Archer with the cartoons and stuff.

Save Trickett's Heisman campaign for his Sr year then? Ok, I guess I can get onboard with that.

Thanks , OSU fans have been whining for a week now. We can tell them about bad calls! They need to give it a rest.
