Sounds like what Bo Schembeckler said about Bill Frieder when he left Michigan for Arizona St. The interim coach Steve Fisher took them to the title.

So, we dont need FSU's coach for the cotton bowl, but we need someone who has hookers on speed dial to be our coach going forward.

Now a large chunk of his time is going to be focused on Florida State. Let Silverfield be the interim if we aren't going to give him the job outright and thank Norvell for everything he has done.

There is no reason for him to be on the sidelines in 3 weeks. Those 3 weeks will set us back for next year. Early signing period is on the 18th. Who is going to be recruiting for MEMPHIS during this time?

I totally agree that MN shouldn't coach the team in the Cotton Bowl...heck, he'll be too busy knocking down FSU recruits during the early signing period to really prepare this year's incredible Tiger football team.

It makes sense to allow Silverfield to coach'em during the interim while the decision is made on a permanent coach. Even if we make a solid hire within the next few days, Silverfield already knows the playbook, the players and would have the ability to keep the team focused on winning the Cotton Bowl.

I agree! He's gone...move along.
