I don’t think you’re alone in those thoughts. The UM to NY6 pump that I’ve seen has come from national pundits more so than Tiger fans on social media.
After listening to past and present O lineman, I’m not as worried there as I maybe should be. In multiple interviews, players credit line success to Ryan Silverfield...saying they actually learned how to block via skills and techniques vs. relying on brute strength. Several players have started early on or switched positions and have been productive in his system. The challenge will be replacing three instead of one or two. It may take a bit to gel, but the unit has length, depth and a great teacher. As the lone holdover from Norvell’s initial staff, Silverfield turned down offers to stay on which says a lot. Maybe he’ll take over when Norvell leaves. Do OL coaches make good head coaches?
Last great OL coach as a Head Coach
I kept watching thinking it would get better, but it didn’t...

That's also what Ole Miss fans thought watching 3 years of a coke-infused Coach O leading their Rebels.

Both statements are moderately inaccurate.
Fuente turned the program around
And West was chiding the administration, goading them to put more into it. He was using sarcasm augmented with hyperbole.
Still, not your school, so I'm impressed with your recall.
