RE: Game day!!!!! Championship Game Thread!!!
We're probably gonna be solid under dogs in any of the bowl match ups I've seen for UAB. Not what the players or the fans might want but our best chance to get a win this bowl season is likely at home in the Birmingham Bowl.

I’m down for the Bham bowl. We’ve earned it after today.
Probably Nola and we want absolutely nothing to do with App State, that’s why it looks like from the outside looking in that we ducked them last year.

We did duck them last year. And personally, I want no part of them this year either!

I agree QB is a big issue right now.
I just call it the sophomore jinx. I think Tyler will be fine next year if coached properly.

I liked the Bham bowl but theres a good chance we would play a pretty good AAC team in it. Personally I think a more competitive match up would be one of the games against a mid tier MWC team.

Take the boca bowl again. FAU doesnt want it although we will probably wind up getting it again

Remember he had a serious shoulder issue to start his career. Just judging from the noticeable regression in arm strength we saw to start the season, I can’t help but wonder if it’s bothering him again.
Add in the knee injury he got this season and the dude just isn’t healthy enough to judge him fairly

Didn't know about the serious shoulder injury. It clearly affected him this season. Hopefully it's not a permanent issue or otherwise Dylan may be our starter next year.

Had Johnston been in good shape, etc. he would have started over Hopkins. There's something we don't know going on.
With that said we were toasted yesterday regardless of who was QB.
Add in a blocked punt and lots of penalties & it is a tad high hill to have to climb.

Don't discount Lucero coming off a redshirt either. He needs experience, but should be a solid player.
