South Carolina just opened up. We'll see if Freeze goes south of the border.

How about the CCU coach?

Freeze is proven while Chaldwell is less so. But Chaldwell is likely more attainable.

HCHF is their top target. We will see how it goes but I doubt he’ll turn it down. Who should we target if he does go?

RE: Head Coach Hugh Freeze
That link is dead, but here's what he said about it today:

Quote:I don’t know if it will keep coming up, it’s a compliment to our kids and our administration and our program,” Freeze said when asked if his name will keep coming up whenever there’s a job opening. “You can keep asking, but my total focus is on our kids and Liberty University and building this program. That’s the answer you’re going to get if you ask this week, next week, or the following week. I don’t know how else I can address it. I’ve addressed it ten times and said it would take something very, very special for me to even consider it and I don’t know that even that would do it, me considering it. My focus is here. I’m at peace and love what we’re doing. You will probably have to deal with those rumors, as long as we’re winning. If we lose one or two everybody will probably quit talking about it.

The underlined portion I hadn't heard before. But, does SC = "special"? Seems like he could say everything he said without using that bolded line, if he plans to take just any SEC job.

Jamey Chadwell maybe? I think he fits the Liberty mission.

I’ve liked him from his CSU days. The guy can coach. I wonder what he could do with our resources. I wonder how much we’d have to pay to get him to leave.

I think I heard someone related to my former step great uncle’s friend’s neighbor say Dabo Swinney had always wanted to coach at Liberty.

I liked him at CSU too. If someone can win there, he must be good. I don't think we would be a high enough step up over Coastal Carolina. I'm not sure if he can get a solid P5 job at CCU so he may need to go to an AAC school first.

I like Clemson's OC as our head coach and for him to bring the QB coach (Streeter?) who used to be here under Rocco. That would be a strong combination.

I’m pretty sure he has turned down a few g5 schools waiting for a P5.

Coach Freeze has COVID-19. Get well soon!

Now which other schools that have a potential or actual vacancies that Freeze may have been visiting... Michigan had to cancel on Ohio State. 05-stirthepot I'm only mostly joking.

Auburn fired Gus Malzahn. This is a job that Freeze would leave for. Time to be worried though we'll be okay.

I could see this as a good place for him. Might want to think about a replacement possibilities.

RE: Head Coach Hugh Freeze
I wouldn’t be surprised if Coach Freeze leaves for Auburn. The only drawback will be the constant pressure to beat Bama and always playing second fiddle to Bama in the state. But he can excel and win a NC there.
I hope he stays but I wish him well. We’ll get another good coach when the time comes.

You guys will be okay if he is hired away, but Mario Christobal is also on the Auburn radar. So you might not have anything to worry about.

I’m obviously worried about this one. I’d say if he doesn’t go it means he is waiting for the TN job.

That very well could be what he's waiting on.

One other thought I've had is this: what if Auburn was the place he wanted to coach, but he thought he had another year with this squad & isn't ready to move yet due to his family? It then becomes a question of what he values more. For most coaches, it would be the opportunity, no questions asked. But Freeze does seem to have changed his values after everything that happened at Ole Miss, & this would be the test to determine whether that's true or not.

Not sure how reliable Lil Mook is, but he's saying Cristobal to Auburn is a done deal: https://twitter.com/Lilmook4real/status/...9040?s=20.

I think his family would back the move. In the words of wise forum contributors... he gone.
