Seems to me it would have been to her political advantage to answer that question with a resonding, "yes". She has obviously lost her fastball by missing an opportunity like that. She could have added that to one of her many amazing stories in her life, like being named after a mountain climber that no one had ever heard of at the time of her birth, being under fire while landing in a war zone etc.
