Dear Chip,
Yes me. I realize Coach McElwain has done a great job in the win/loss column, but he brings baggage to which he still is answerable. Why controversy at the three universities he has been a head coach? Still no reply on what the NCAA was to rule on the appeal of your quarterback using a banned substance. The same substance used by a quarterback when your coach was the head coach at the University of Florida. Stay tuned for further developments.

And Chip fans hope any P5 Universities that are looking for a new HC feel the same way and leave him alone so he stays at CMU for a few more years! 04-cheers

Ken, nothing has been publicly said about what "substance" Moore is supposed to have tested positive for, so unless you have an actual source for that allegation, knock it off. The fact that there's no reply could mean the appeal is still under consideration, as opposed to a quick denial, such as the LB at MSU got.

As for McElwain, unless he said it's OK to take (insert drug) to any of those guys, I don't see how he's responsible. I do know for a fact that the CMU coaches told the players to clear ANYTHING with the team doctors before taking it, especially OTC crap that the FDA hasn't approved. Sometimes young men don't listen, in case you don't recall.

Dear CMichFan,
The report in the newspapers, when this came out about your quarterback, was that they believed it was the same substance that was used by the quarterback at the University of Florida. Your school has not released any information since that story came out in the press.
I can understand a certain amount of silence in this case. However, if the NCAA rules against Central, shouldn't there be an internal investigation as to what happened and why? Maybe there already is/has been an internal investigation.
I still think that if it is the same substance, used by quarterbacks at two different schools, and the only common denominator is the coach. Something is fishy as they say.

No. You're wrong now as you were when you originally posted about this on your forum. There has been absolutely no mention of the substance used by David Moore. The articles you have referred to mention what banned substance Will Grier had used that caused his failed drug test.

Also, why is it the coaches fault? Let's say it turns out it was the same substance, if McElwain was trying to cheat, don't you think he might suggest taking a supplement other than the one a former player got busted for? You'd have to be pretty dumb to recommend that if you were trying to beat the system.

And what about Jay Bilas, someone with countless connections in college athletics, coming out and stating that the test was administered incorrectly and that subsequent testing came back negative?

I get that you have a hard on for being anti-CMU, but you're stating hearsay and not fact.

Dear r7carlsn24,
You don't read well. I stated the information was from newspaper reports and what they said about the case. I did not state that these were facts. That's your interpretation of what I said. So, I am not wrong about what has been reported. You may not like it, and that is understandable. However, your coach has left a trail of questionable situations at best.

Easy enough to prove your case Ken. Just provide a link to the article that stated the compound Moore used.

Additionally, how stupid would he be to encourage an athlete to do the same thing that a previous player was suspended for?

I read just fine. See your original post in which you state it was the same substance used by the QB at Florida. That has not been stated anywhere. Articles have stated that Grier was suspended for using Ligandrol. If you have an article that states that is believed to be what Moore was suspended for please share it, but I'm confident it doesn't exist. You've simply seen it mentioned about Grier and assumed it was what Moore was using as well.

Guys, guys, you have to understand where Barnyard Ken’s jealously/paranoia comes from: First, he thinks CMU tried to kick EMU out of the MAC (based on some third-rate Freep reporter), and secondly, the fact that he and the Huronators got their ass handed to them, 42-16. Draw your own conclusions.

Dear Chip,
As usual, you can't stand the facts about Central trying to kick Eastern out of the MAC. I'm not jealous or have any paranoia about Central, it's you that have a problem with the facts regarding the attempt to get Eastern out of the MAC. You will win some games and we will win some games. That's the way it is going to be. I don't have a problem with that.

This is the first I've ever heard of this.

Why would CMU want to kick Eastern out of the MAC?
Its a guaranteed win for Central each year... 05-stirthepot03-lmfao
