Cincy just sent 800 tickets back

How many have been sold so far?

About 30K

And the conference is making us remove the tarps. Yikes. That will be several thousand empty seats on TV

What's the reason for requireing the tarps be removed -- anyone know?

The AOB reported 30k sold 2-3 days ago, have we not sold anymore since then? Also, since students get in free with their ID there's no way to know how many students will show up. I believe we'll have a very good student turnout, hope so anyway.

Maybe it's to make it appear like a neutral-site game. Wonder if the Memphis wall signage has to go too?

FWIW the seat maps have those areas blanked out - no dots for sold or unsold seats show up.

The only thing that make sense is that this is a championship game, not a Memphis Home game. I assume if we had a Bearcat tarp to put in the other endzone it might fly.

That being said, it sure would be nice if we had a 42-45k seat stadium on campus. Our crowds would look amazing there.

If this were the case, yes, the game would be a complete sellout and people would be clamoring for tickets. I'm still amazed at how the city went out and spent major dollars to add 16,000 additional seats to the LB thinking that it would bring an NFL team to Memphis, when in reality it was an NFL pipe dream to begin with. Oh well, is what it is, and I think there'll still be a big crowd for the game come Saturday.

the NFL was not pipe dream for MEMPHIS, but it was playing in the LB

A 60,000 Liberty Bowl stadium in 1965 may have gotten us an NFL franchise. But, by 1993/94, it took a new stadium with luxury suites to lure an NFL franchise. Jacksonville getting the 2nd expansion franchise proved that.

Exactly, that's what I said

A shame,,,,but Memphis did it right with NBA NOW

UCF had all of their signage, etc last year. It was a UCF home game because they earned the right to host it. We earned the right to host it this year, and it should be treated as a Memphis home game.

Just chairback the entire LB, bring it down to 48k.

Move the ramps and bathrooms on the home side outside the footprint for more room.

Replace the press box.

You can't chairback the entire stadium because of the shape; however, you could do both sides all the way up. It would knock off a couple thousand.

I would be totally in favor of that, as long as they didn't raise the price point of all those seats. You would kill all the momentum we currently have of possibly brining in fans to the stadium as it is.

Yeah, we need to chairback it slowly, gradually, and maybe not at all if the AZ Liberty Bowl would object.

Yup, and helped the Tigers with the Pro Day during the NBA preseason, when it clustered around RJ Hampton coming to town. Brought a ton of scouts riding the circuit from Memphis to OKC to follow the Australian league team...

How do you pull up the seating chart that shows specific available seats? I just want to see it. Had a difficult time finding it for SMU game. I can find the go tigers go ticket page but not that specific chart

Thanks

Go like you’re going to buy a seat there, and click on a section that is blue. Then you can drag around and look at individual seats.
