Agreed. If Pelosi *Knew* that she had 218 votes to impeach right now, today, then her minions would be setting up the vote for tomorrow or Wednesday. Those votes do not exist and so the vote will not take place this week.

Although they would have a lot more than only 32 votes to impeach.

Vote on what? They don't even have any official articles drafted yet. That's what Nadler's committee will do...then they will vote.

You sound like trump. Perhaps you should go watch some Schoolhouse Rock.

There are hundreds of bills passed that aren't going anywhere because Mitch won't move on them. The dems in the house can't simply send laws and bills directly to the president.

And I didn't even watch as much as half of the impeachment inquiry hearings, but I did see them twice take breaks in the proceedings so that the members could go to the floor to cast votes.

Passing bills that both sides know have zero chance of passing in the Senate are a total waste of time, beyond appeasing the base.

Real legislation requires compromise. Neither side is willing to budge an inch.

Go tell Pelosi to pass the dang USMCA, at least. Fat chance, of course.

I believe that if a majority of the House were ready to vote for Impeachment right now, then the Article(s) would’ve already have been drafted, and they would’ve been already have voted on by the Judiciary Committee.

The fact that those two things have not yet happened is (to me) evidence that a majority of the House is not yet ready to vote in favor of Impeachment.

now ewe understand why the house is first in line every two yrs...(even though I'm pro 4 yrs.)

the house has easily shown the public their 'worthlessness' over time....

"get elected" and 'start campaigning' is the newest version of bs...

if the 'phants lose control of the senate, god can't/won't help us moving forward....

Klobuchar announced today that she'd likely vote to convict in the Senate. No final impeachment vote in the House; No trial even scheduled, and she was not part of the sham House Intelligence Committee soap opera, and she is putting her "vote" on record.

And she is supposedly one of the sane ones. Scary times, indeed.

Well, she is officially (though it’s hard to tell) campaigning for President, and she is trying to appeal to a certain slice of the American people who have been thirsting for Trump’s impeachment for over three years now — since 09th November 2016. Her use of the word “likely” is meant to allow for some wiggle-room.

Quote:But on major policy issues — like health care and infrastructure, or even bipartisan ones like net neutrality, the Equal Pay Act, or even a simple reauthorization of the longstanding Violence Against Women Act — Democrats’ bills are continuing to languish in the Senate. House Democrats are expecting to take up House Resolution 3, a major health care bill to lower the cost of prescription drugs, before the Christmas break. Although we’re not going to list all 400 bills for brevity’s sake, here’s a list of major bills and resolutions the House has passed so far.

See the link for the important ones...
House Democrats have passed nearly 400 bills. Trump and Republicans are ignoring them.

I fully agree that the impeachment of a president — for any reason, good-bad-or-indifferent — “is an important undertaking.”

I also agree there isn't (or, at least, there shouldn’t be) “a rush” to take the votes necessary to impeach a president, either in Committee or on the Floor of the House. But I *don’t* believe that prudence, caution, or “respect-for-the-process” have anything to do with why such votes have not yet occurred in Trump’s case.

The real reason for the delay is much more pragmatic: the majority of the House — while privately wishing and hoping that impeachment will happen — is simply not willing to go on record as being in favor of it. And Pelosi &Co. dare not let the vote take place until their ducks are carefully lined up in neat little rows.

At the same time, if the curtain isn’t raised soon, the audience may grow bored and begin walking out to the lobby. Some signs that process has already started. So, the pressure cuts both ways.

What’s the rush? You tell us the Dems wanted this done before the holidays. Seems to me it’s blowing up in their faces and now they scrambling.
