Even though the season ended poorly for Toledo, the Rockets have the best resume of the four MAC 6-6 bowl eligible teams. Including beating two of the others on the field...….

I would think Kent would go since it has been awhile since they went bowling but who knows what the Mouse will do

This comparison may favor us, but it's the way our season ended that hurts our chances. How could any bowl be interested in Toledo after these last 2 games, especially. We not only looked bad, we looked disinterested. I always say accept a bid if offered, but I am skeptical an offer will come.

Good analysis UTerry. I like our chances based on your comparisons. Our Commissioner is an Ohio Grad indeed, but, he is worthless. I'm still PO'd that he chose to do NOTHING about the screwing we took from the officials vs. Syracuse. NOTHING!!!! And he's a lawyer. I guess he's never heard of the "fine art of negotiating?"
GO ROCKETS!!

We have to have the worst losses no?
5-7 Ball State by 38... and 3-9 BGSUcks by 13...
Wins by a combined how many points? Losses by a combined how many points...

Don't forget that bowls and ESPN want teams that will travel. Toledo has the #1 attendance in the MAC.

Toledo doesn’t travel very well outside of conference, I’ve been to enough out of conference and post season games myself to witness that first hand. It’s not like thousands are traveling, maybe hundreds at best.

Eastern, Ohio and Kent are all rated above us by Sagarin.

E$PN could care less about Sagarin ratings... Since they are in the business of filling slots/good matchups/potential viewership/ you would think Toledo is in a pretty good situation...
Now if the Rockets do go bowling, and the entertainment factor is diminished by a horror performance, possibly the mouse network will pass on Toledo in future years...

1000s?
Remember it's not just Toledo area fans but a significant amount of UT fans/player families that reside in the Sunshine St. I'm just going by the Boca Raton Bowl, the UMiami, UF, and FIU games.

1000s?
Back in 2003 when Toledo had an early season matchup down in Orlando-UCF, I would venture to say that there were at least 3-4000 Rocket fans in the Citrus Bowl...
I am going by the amount of UT alumni that attended from the Palm Beach/Miami/Tampa/ and Fort Lauderdale chapters, along with the pre-game tailgating functions that the university put on...
All the alumni events - breakfast/luncheons/dinners were packed as well...
That was definitely one of my favorite road trips, and a great game as well...

that was the game 5-9, 175 lbs., speedster Astin Martin hid behind 6-9, 353 lbs., Eric Fassen on a sweep and popped out around him and went 60+ yards for a score and shocked the Citrus Bowl to silence..... It was an amazing play. My favorite Rocket play ever..... It beats out the TD vs. Pitt and Nerd Up The Middle for me.

A lot of offense, and a lot of fun, especially back at my presidential suite the kind folks at “ The Four Seasons “ decided to upgrade me to...

“ My favorite Rocket play ever “ - I’m kind of partial to the 3rd and 33 toss to Andrew Clarke against NIU...

True, but neither do the other MAC schools.
