Sounds like Napier is not headed to Baylor
https://www.dallasnews.com/sports/baylor...inia-tech/
The list seems to be narrowing rapidly. The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman reported that Louisiana coach Billy Napier, another top top-tier candidate, will remain in Lafayette.

RE: Coaching carousel 2019
Expectations are very high for next season, lets hope the team can live up to them. I do think attendance will start to return to the peak days of Hud (25-30K) next season with fans finally realizing that we have a pretty good deal going at UL in football again. If we lose Napier next season, we still have our great AD Dr. Maggard. I have confidence he will make another sterling hire.
Maybe next season we can break the losing streak to a certain school on the opposite end of the conference.

Ga State and CCU in line with you guys . Here's to one more year of waiting!
I'm hoping to break our own losing streak against the redneck school of Ga to the South.

We've got lots of teams we need to break long (in some cases, eternal) losing streaks to.
App, GS, Louisiana, and Troy we're a combined 0-fer against since we've all 5 been in the SBC. That's, uh, its not good...

I knew we were always a bad to average-at-best team but never expected to be an embarrassingly bad team. Maybe in a couple more year we can get back to average.

Napier is a smart man. He knows that it's easier to win in a G-5 school than a P-5 school.

RE: Coaching carousel 2019
You realize a HC in the SBC could leave to be a coordinator for a P5 school and double, if not triple, their current pay.

Sort of, it’s easier to stay when you make $1M+ and you can be a little more selective with job selection. Not all P5 jobs are equal.

How much will Michigan State pay Fickle? He's being paid pretty well at the moment. They could look to Jim McElwain considering he is already in Michigan and MSU is in desperate need of a modern offense.

Fickle makes 2.4 million. Dantonio was making more than double that at 5.6 million

Cincinnati can only dodge the bullet for so long, I think this is the one that gets them, that is of course MSU wants him.

Michigan State is going to need to offer at least $5.6 to get Fickle to leave Cincy, I believe. However it is in his footprint as a coach and on a personal level so who knows?

I would imagine, even with the buyout of Dantonio, finding for money for Fickle shouldn’t be a big deal, if they want him bad enough they will find the cash.
