Why on earth would anyone take away that for any reason other than a penalty?

We sure do have some weird takes on this board.

Because it's natural to think that way. A kickoff return for a touchdown is generally a unicorn scoring play. Chances are Memphis won't do that again this coming week. And we will have to score by marching down the field.

Like I noted before, if the game had been reversed Memphis fans would be complaining, or at least noting, that Cincy probably won't be able to get a kickoff return for touchdown, a flea-flicker for touchdown, and their team wouldn't get an unnecessary personal foul.

Of course we would say that about Cincinnati, their offense isn't good, they played above their heads. I don't expect them to duplicate that.

Quote:Cincy probably won't be able to get a kickoff return for touchdown
I don't know who you have or haven't been watching all year, but anyone that says that about us, is completely clueless. We are ranked #1 in special teams. That is like saying that you can't expect the best defensive team in the country to shut another team down, or the best offense in the country to not score. Speaking of that...

Quote:a flea-flicker for touchdown

Again, everyone on the planet knows that we score points in bunches, and when you count big plays, our offense has more of them than anyone else in the country. Anyone who knows us knows that Cincinnati got off light last Friday.

Cincy should have its starting QB back. We can’t stop the short pass. Our DBs are weak.
It’s tough to beat a team the second time.

I hope we win but Cincy is very good. I think they win by a touchdown ,
Just my opinion

If you take away the injury to TJ Carter and Claybrooks being told to fair catch, we might've run another back for a TD and won by 17.

We don't know the what if's... we do know what happened. We won by 10 and never trailed in the game. We played with a comfortable lead most of the game.

I thought it was nuts he kept fair catching---why would MN do that ? He really goes conservative in big games. I thought in the 3rd the play calling looked really suspicious or just plain beyond belief . In big games on national TV---it looks as if he gets cute to impress the country and suitors . It seems he plays NOT TO LOSE--instead of playing to WIN.....and yes I lay 12 @ GS--LOL

I wonder if MN thought about the fact that we were playing them twice.

Probably.

Memphis wins the rematch going away, three scores or so.

I've been telling all the naysayers who hang out at the smoke shop the same thing. I think we win by 20.

Well, UCF beat Memphis twice the last two seasons, so it does happen. I believe CMN will have the team prepared and they will come out poised ready to take care of business.

We have a lot of film on them so I think you're right.

Can people please stop saying dumb stuff like this? We are very good at special teams. If you don’t want us to run back kickoffs, then stop us.

We also could have won by more, but threw a pick due to QB/WR miscommunication. Woulda, coulda, shoulda....doesn’t matter.

Exactly right. We have one of the top special teams units in the country, I can't find the stats but I think we are number two. Every time we return a kickoff I expect to see someone bust out for a TD. I think we've had 5 different players return a kickoff for a TD this year. All this happens for a very good reason, it aint PFM.

Why not order on-line at gotigersgo.com and save that frustration? I settled for 37th row in section 106 because according to the seating charts there weren't two seats together in great locations. Mine aren't bad but they aren't chairbacks either. I picked a hell of a year to not renew my season tickets.

Any word on whether the regular stating Cincinnati QB is going to play? I think he had a sore shoulder or something and now might be playing on Saturday. I read somewhere that the team really likes him and seems to play better with him running the show.

Maybe last game for our QB & coach. Lots of distractions.

Team lacks focus. Fumbles and interceptions will cost us.

Aside from the flea flicker we did play cautious in the second half. They dared us to pass and we ran it a lot when we had the chance to bury them. We won, so it doesn’t matter, but I hope we blow the door off offensively (in the Championship game) so we don’t have to worry about our D having to carry too much weight.
