lemme tell you my experience at an OU FB game is that they are generally much more pleasant than those orange people. Certainly less arrogant

I was on a bus with all MissSt fans at the Liberty Bowl disaster. I would say they are the best.

Worst? LSU.

I'll say BYU fans are the worst.

My brother the Oklahoma graduate, while generally a pleasant person, considers any football season, preferably an undefeated one, that doesn't end in a national championship for OU to be an unqualified failure. Then again, football was the primary reason he picked OU for college....

Just another of the 15-20 schools who thinks it is their divine right to be national champion every year, which is why there will never be another on school 20+year fb coach. But maybe nick Saban....

My brother and sister-in-law passed on the children thing due to the complications her muscular dystrophy would entail. He does assert, however, that Barry Switzer is the greatest college football coach of all time, with Wilkinson and Stoops not far behind, although Lincoln Riley may eventually surpass them all.

Switzer may or may not have been the greatest coach of all time, but I think he authored the greatest quote:

"I didn't know I had to make it a team rule not to commit a felony".

Adekunle earned her first career AVCA All-Region accolade by ranking sixth in the NCAA in hitting percentage (.425- Rice single-season record).

An AVCA All-Region Honorable Mention last year, Cunningham earned C-USA All-Conference honors (Second Team) for the third time in her career and was also named to the C-USA All-Academic Team.

Baylor, Stanford, Wisconsin and Minnesota make the Final Four. Baylor was extended to 4 sets, but the other 3 teams won in sweeps.

Even with the dominance of a once again healthy Kathleen Plummer, Stanford is by far the most balanced team in the country. Fritzmorris, McGlure, Gates and Campbell all capable of double digit kill games. And Plummer is on another planet-- she had 29 kills in the 5-set win over Utah, and 24 last night in their sweep of Penn State.

BTW, if you watched the last couple rounds of the tournament you realize the big difference between the truly elite teams and Rice is in their defense (especially blocking ability) and serving.

RE: Volleyball - 2019 NCAA's
IMO, in addition to what Walt mentioned, we were a 2nd hitter away this year from being an elite team. We might have that hitter next year if one of the freshmen takes on that role. But I'm not sure if our blocking will improve next year (unless our freshmen are more ready to make an impact than this year's freshmen). Perhaps we'll be able to add in a transfer because I think we still have an open scholarship or two to give out?

Yes serving was unbelievable.

I'm hoping Ellie makes a big jump between her Freshman and Sophomore season. She certainly has the potential; simply needs to make better decisions and become more efficient. If she can moved to the next level that would give us 3 all-conference caliber attackers (along with Nicole and Anota). Our blocking will take a big hit with the departure of Grace Morgan, but hopefully her replacement as our 2nd middle blocker will be solid. Note-- we had two highly regarded Freshman this year who saw no action because of Grace and Anota. Even with the big loss of Lee Ann, I'm hoping our backcourt defense will improve as I thought Tabitha Brown, save for the UT game, contributed very little. She wasn't a particularly strong defender, and her serves were extremely weak.

RE: Volleyball - 2019 NCAA's
#4 takes down #1 Baylor 3-1, sweeping the final 3 sets after blowing a big lead in the first set. Baylor looked really, really poor in defending Wisconsin's service game. Both teams played great defense (several cuts above anything we've seen in CUSA), but the big difference, aside from the service game, was Wisconsin's blocking. Made likely national POY, Pressley, look average. It was reminiscent of the way A&M made Nicole look.

I strongly recommend watching #3 Stanford vs. #7 Minnesota in the upcoming semis, with a 8:40pm CT start time on ESPN. I love watching Stanford as they're so fundamentally sound and balanced. I'd love for Nicole to pick up some of the dunk shot game that Plummer has perfected, as it's one way to beat the double teams she usually faces, and keeps the opposition a bit more honest.
