The only way we lose this game is if Withers comes back.....
Or if Cignetti spends his week in Norfolk interviewing for the ODU job...
Don't believe he would want the ODU job. He would not get fired at JMU
I know it was tongue in cheek, but Cignetti wants Ws. Lets not forget Cignetti applied to be the JMU coach not once, but twice. If he left a championship contender to go to a 1 win ODU team he's a moron.
Plus he would be 59 years old (next season) stepping into a 3-4 year rebuild job at a school that doesn’t have as deep a pockets as ECU. Zero chance of that happening.

It's a damn shame we don't play ODU every year in football. It would be a huge plus for both schools. Wish ODU would step out of the box, and think what would be in the best interest of their fans. Most ODU fans don't even know the difference between FBS and FCS. They have no true rival, and neither do we. And to be quite honest, who would have more to lose at this point if they lost?

Like many of you, I watched the game on Saturday and came away impressed with Guerrero. There's a reason he leads FCS in rushing.
5'10, 190lbs. 287 carries, 1888 yards. 6.6ypc. 28 receptions, 2.1 per game.
He has a ton of 40+ yard carries/catches, so he's obviously a home run threat. I think he's nearly a clone of Jawon Hamilton (5'9, 195lbs), who averages 6.4ypc.
Obviously Guerrero hasn't faced a Front 7 like ours (Montana and Western Michigan don't compare). He might pop a long run at some point, but he's not going to have sustained success against us. I see him going for about 90 yards, maybe 3.5 yards per carry.

Agree. If I were Monmouth, I'd try at least 3 or 4 screen passes to Guerrero in the 1Q. Try to negate our rush and get Guerrero out in space if they can. Our linebackers are really good with their eyes seeing plays and then have the athletic ability to get out into space and make open-field tackles. Heck, our DL's are pretty swift too.
So, by no means is a guarantee those screen passes will work. I certainly don't think (and I hope I don't eat these words) they'll be able to line up and smash mouth us between the tackles with Guerrero. I really think the only team who can beat us is us for these first 2 playoff games. Semifinals if we get there? OK. Maybe there's a team that can stand eye to eye with us and kick our hind parts. Maybe. Protect the ball and the defense sticks to their assignments...we should win comfortably these next 2 games, maybe 3, hopefully 4.

I am more curious to see where the officiating crew will be from. Just thankful in knowing it will not be a CAA crew. I have always been very pleased with the officiating crews from other conferences in the playoffs.

In with 7 others for this game. Most of the crew making it into town for this one. No weather excuses here, no other excuses - we'll be with team 109 Rootin away! Purchased side panels for the pop up tent so the propane heat will be available for a nice December run. Dirty let me know if you want me to bring your cooler. Looking forward to enjoying December football at Bridgeforth Stadium.

I take it you missed the SELA/Villanova game this last week. The officiating was an absolute dumpster fire.

I was referring to JMU's playoff game officiating, not every game every officiated in the playoffs. I stand by my statement that after the regular season, I will take any officiating crew from any conference or High School league over the clown show that the CAA trots out week in and week out.
Tough that Villanova got a bad call at the end......but when you have a 17 point lead and let a team come back on you, that is on them....Villanova can look no where but in the mirror if looking for blame.
