I see two PAC (Or. St, Ariz.) and two SEC (Miss., Vand.) There's only one ACC (Ga. Tech) as Maryland is now Big Ten. They moved over with Rutgers.

I've got some serious issues with this ranking system. I'd take Oregon State against us, probably Arizona and Tulane, too. I think we're getting propped up by recency of (weak) wins and the others deflated by recency of losses (to difficult opponents). Even though we went 3-1 in November, I'm more impressed by Oregon State's month:

• 12-pt loss vs Washington
• 1-pt win vs Arizona State
• 1-pt loss at Washington State
• 14-pt loss at Oregon
  

This Rice team managed an eight-point game against a Baylor team that was looking forward to conference play. I couldn't see us hanging within 14 of Baylor in the last week of the season in a conference game with a rivalry on the line the way Oregon State played Oregon in Eugene.

Thanks for the correction!! Despite -- or maybe because -- I lived in Maryland for more than a decade (back in the 60s), I apparently still don't think of them as not being in the ACC. LOL!!

And I agree that his methodology must be pretty suspect to rank all those P5 teams below us.

Yes. They have failed to give proper credit for losing to the bulk of a strong P5 conference schedule
