Before this season, I said that I would make my judgments on wins, and three is not enough. Three would have been minimal last year, but in year two we needed to see more.

However, I will issue a stay of execution for Bloomgrem, based on the following mitigating circumstances:

The three wins were in the final three games, and,
7 pf the 9 losses were by two scores or less.

Still need to see more progress in 2020. A bowl game is a minimal achievement next year. Barely enough, or maybe not quite enough. But at least it is an easily discernible benchmark. We need progress. A bowl game is not an end goal, bit a step on the way.

JMHO.

Johnson needs to become a dual threat QB, else all we have with him is the Wild Owl. Plus we have a ton of good receivers, and we need a QB who can get the ball to them.

Could Marshman be converted to RB?

The offense was not good for most of the year. Got better towards the end with Stewart and Johnson providing improved play.

In his one start, Johnson looked fine passing the ball and running the read option (though he missed time in this game with multiple injuries): https://youtu.be/u6EMtKaE3qo

There is hope. I'm pleased with the defense and how the special teams improved. Defense should be solid next year. But the offense remains a concern until proven otherwise. Need bigger games through the air. With good talent at WR, it's possible. Not sure what RB will look like besides Juma. But overall, despite losing faith 3/4 through the season, I'm now optimistic next season can become the breakout year for this program under Bloomgren.

I like all the seasons, Spring is my favorite.

But one thing I love about fall is that mostly the mosquitoes go away. And it’s not as crazy hot as summer.

Still, I’m looking forward to winter and hoping to get up north to play in the snow a little bit.

Those are my season thoughts.
Thanks for asking me to “post” them.

Thought you were going to say Post was your favorite season, or something like that.

You must be a hoot when the hostess says "Walk this way".

They won 3 games. UNT was the only decent win. A horrible season. If he doesn’t make a bowl next year then fire him or go D3.

You simply haven’t been paying attention if you want to call our best showing in four years “horrible”. Am I just quibbling over terminology?
Well, our best win was on the road at defending East champion Middle Tennessee, the same caliber team as North Texas (and as Rice). If Rice hadn’t beaten them in those games, they’d have both been playing for a bowl spot yesterday. So, nope, you just haven’t been paying attention.
