No support for Bobby Wilder, coach of the best 1-11 team in the country?

Doc, a coach that wins enough games to keep his job.

I love Kiffin, but he is not going to win COY because he (we) has a very talented team.

I have always believed that COY is a consolation prize for teams that aren't very good and/or are not expected to do much.

Healy unless Clark, Helton or Kiffin win the ship. Just think LT and USM has the talent to be where they are, and it don’t take much coaching when you have some of the talent they do. Just my opinion.

I just glanced at several preseason predictions. About half had Western in front of Charlotte and half had Charlotte in front of Western. All of them had both teams down at the bottom. None of them had us dead last. Most of them had UTEP dead last.

Helton beat the dogshitt out of Healy head to head. If Western beats Middle and Charlotte beats ODU and both are favored Charlotte will be 7-5 and Western will be 8-4 with a beatdown of Arkansas and a good win at USM.

Healy wins:
UTEP 1-10
Middle 4-7
Marshall 7-4
UNT 4-7
UMass 1-11
Gardner Webb 3-9
If Charlotte beats ODU add in 1-11

Helton wins:
USM 7-4
FIU 6-5
Army 5-6
UAB 8-3
ODU 1-10
Charlotte 6-5
Arkansas 2-10
If Western beats Middle add in 4-8

I won’t be mad if Healy wins it. I know a kid that plays at Austin Peay so I watched what Healy did down there. He’s like a Dabo Junior in the way he handles kids. Helton is probably somewhere between that and Brohm. Both look to be fine young coaches.

I’ve just seen firsthand what Helton had to do to turn around the train wreck that our boy wonder had done. It wasn’t a complete roster rebuild but it was a complete culture rebuild.

There is the matter of that first game. Pretty big black eye on a new coach's resume. I think he's recovered nicely, but it's still there. Losing to us was a big black eye, too, as we suck horribly. So your coach has a couple nice wins and a couple bad losses. Don't know if it's COTY worthy but "whatever" works for me.

This Charlotte fan says Helton.
I’d give Healy a distant silver, but Helton won straight up against us and WKU was the worst CUSA team I’ve ever seen last season.

Lane and Clark should also get consideration and I would be mad or amazed if either of them won it.

Sorry folks it should be Kiffin. Last year they were 4-7, now they are 9-3. He has been in the championship game two of the last three years. The charlotte coach has 7 wins where last year they had 5. Western coach did come back this year, but Kiffin is in the championship this year. Clark on the other hand lost a lot of players from last years team and got back in so he has a vote too.

Last week Healy shut up Herd Nation. Case closed.

Wrong, I praised and congratulated Charlotte on the big win multiple times on different threads.

I think they just hushed our bombastic posters.

Because a lot folks thought that record was fluky. At least, I did. If he wins the ship, he should get it.

What do you mean? Last year’s record?

We were not good on either side of the ball. He made the needed corrections and turned it around.

RE: Who will be Football coach of the year in C-USA?
For those of you saying back to back making it the championship game...

Brohm did not win it in 2016 and Western went back to back championships with 17-1 CUSA record. I personally hope it's the UNCC head coach. Western needs every penny they can save so if another coach wins it. It saves Western 25k on Helton's contract. Even thought I think Western has a keeper...

I'm still pissed Western gave 2 conference games away on what I see as coaching mistakes. So give it Helton next season because I dont see him repeating those same calls. Yes, I'm going on record, Western wins the east and the east usually wins CUSA. Well unless the west is playing a team that cant count to 11
