He could flex his muscles as the most dominant team in the state and get Memphis recruits. Now that Memphis is a tougher game and he will only likely lose in front of Memphis recruits, it no longer benefits him

BINGO! He doesn’t want to renew it because he knows with real players they’ll leave every game played against us with blue marks on their rear ends from us kicking their candy a*$es.

No more Tubby to curb stomp, so he won’t be scheduling us if he can help it.

So basically the Vol philosophy for scheduling Memphis over the last 40 years. I saw some of their idiot fans saying that UT is the state's flagship school and they should rotate games w/ the "lesser mid-majors around the state including Memphis". Their basketball program truly is a joke.

No but he did bring up the fact that Penny was not in the hall of fame. Under handed irrelevant comment from the old d bag. Not once did he bring up the fact our defense held them to 47 points but mentioned their defense held us to only 51 several times.

Which brings up the question, why isn't Penny in the Hall of Fame?

Penny is to basketball what Bo was to football

I wondered the same thing...why is he not in the HOF? Was Barnes' comment a jab? I'd like to think not, but I was surprised he said it. If he had added, "He should be," that would've been something else.
