Exclamation Looking ahead to the 2020 season. Undefeated season possible???
I was looking at next year's schedule and just at a glance this schedule could be easier than 2019 schedule. Just missing the body bag game (Bama St or Bama A&M???).

2020
09/03 - New Mexico State
09/19 - at Miami (May have a new coach)
09/26 - at South Alabama
at Louisiana Tech (Loses J'Mar & top WR)
at Old Dominion
at Rice
at UTEP
North Texas (Fine is gone)
Southern Miss
UTSA
Western Kentucky (Loses entire OL)

Next year could be really, really special!

2020
09/03 - New Mexico State (will have new coach-1st game so don't know exactly what to expect)
09/19 - at Miami (May have a new coach) (Seriously doubt new coach)
09/26 - at South Alabama
at Louisiana Tech (Loses J'Mar & top WR)
at Old Dominion (probably new coach)
at Rice (showing signs of improvement; may be darkhorse)
at UTEP
North Texas (Fine is gone)
Southern Miss
UTSA
Western Kentucky (Loses entire OL)

Next year could be really, really special!

Miami's gonna be just as easy as Tennessee?

I hope I'm wrong but I have a feeling next season won't be as good as this one.

If we ran right up the middle...went 3 and out...and punted...
The Tennessee game would’ve been very close.

Our offense gifting points to the Vols made us look awful
(Same goes for all of our losses this season)

Lol Tennessee’s turning point happened well before they played us.

As for Miami, I don’t know a whole lot about them, but they could be the best chance for a P5 win since The Return.

Fixed, they're almost pulled up against them if it wasn't for the fumble 6 in the endzone 03-banghead

Manny Diaz is in his first year at UM. They’ll be much better next year.

I am not sure if the schedule will be any easier or not. I believe it will be determined by how well our offense plays.

There are a lot of players slated to return. What worries you about next season? Just wondering.

You're right about the offense but as it stands for now this is another very favorable schedule for UAB.

Next season should be our best yet, based on both returning players and schedule. Defense may be even better if we can find a couole of Dlinemen and if our two injured starters in the secondary return to full speed.

But the Oline still concerns me. We lose only Galten but we have not been able to consistently run against any of the better defenses weve played: wku, ut, and usm. Plus we struggled against a few really weak teams early: asu and akron. Those games where we did see running lanes were against some of the worst defenses in the nation. We have some very solid Olinemen, but not 5 of them.

The six Olinemen scheme is somewhat of an admissions that we dont yet have five who can get the job done.

That said, we now have a year of experience for many of these guys and they should further improve by next year. And maybe we add another Juco or :ban:two that offers an upgrade.

Speaking of running the ball, I really like Stanley as a RB and hope they give him more carries in the future. He has the best combination of size and quickness to find a hole and burst through it. Little Brown will add weight and be harder to tackke as well as hard to catch. Spencer. I just dont know what has happened there. I watch him run this year and simply wonder whats going on. He has no acceleration or leg drive. Wooden, who knows what he offers. Havent seen enough. But we will be ok at RB.

WR should be a strength again but we need a more consistent intermediate passing game. TE about the same. QB should be better and deeper.

All the pieces for a better offense are there if we can at least establish the threat of a consistent ground game. And if the offensive scheme improves with the Oline. But Im still not convinced that the Oline Ive seen this year is going to improve significantly next year without a few new faces

I'll say
6-6 worst
7-5
9-3 best

Hard to predict without seeing our roster and what everyone else has. Don’t listen to the talking heads in the media and Debbie downers here. Just enjoy. Oh and open that wallet if you want nice things in both major sports.

Injuries. I'm not sure how they will effect next season. Current injuries and whatever happens during the next season.

Expect Miami to improve drastically next year. Re:OLine, most schools outside the top of the P5 tend to be weak on one side of the line,. Imho it’s much harder to take a typical OLine prospect and turn them into a consistent blocker than to take a raw athlete and turn them into DLinemen. We’ve even had QB’s go to dLine.
