No particular reason, but I did have this game circled as a good chance for an upset. I’m sorry that’s (obviously) not going to happen, but LT actually has fought back some after a slow start. Was 39-16 Hoosiers in 1st Half. Tech worked it down to 65-55 midway thru 2nd.

Still an L, of course. But not a massacre.

Just a huge lost opportunity. We were so sloppy in the first half. And I have to mention that BTN has been very complimentary of Tech, but we blew it.

How is our Atlantis rep chosen? Just everyone rotates through? Why not try to send one of our better teams down there?

With today's loss to Washington State and mediocre status officially conferred to ODU basketball to go along with sub-sub-mediocre football, this is to alert and caution the board that we are forced to be extra salty about CUSA teams scheduling non-D1 opponents because that's pretty much all we have at this point.

I think ODU and Charlotte are the only two CUSA teams that did not play any non-D1 opponents this season. The other 12 played (or will play) a total of 29 non-D1 games.

Old Dominion gets one more chance for a W in the Caymans tomorrow against the Loyola Ramblers.

Trivia: Loyola was the 1963 National Champion, overcoming a big second-half deficit to defeat heavily-favored Cincinnati in the Final.

Trivia part two: CUSA will play three different Loyolas in MBB/WBB this week. So far we’re 1-0.

When the odds first came out it was backwards and had USM as 24.5 favorites. I wonder if anyone got in on that bet.

From what I've heard CUSA gets in it due to an agreement with us being in the Bahamas bowl game. Also, it's a rotating system each year as to what team goes but from what I was told most teams have declined it but not sure of the reason as this year each team gets $2 million for being in it based off this article from Gonzaga media:

https://www.kxly.com/news/zags-to-play-s...1094223059

The Battle 4 Atlantis is an annual preseason college basketball tournament, played the week of Thanksgiving on Paradise Island in Nassau, Bahamas. Each team that participates in the Battle 4 Atlantis is awarded $2 million, the most offered by any NCAA tournament. The tournament is televised on ESPN, ESPN 2 and ESPNU.

ODU lost every game in the cayman islands. The field was mediocre at best, so what does that say about us

Monarchs fell behind 30-14 in first half, slowly cut the lead down to 1 point (56-55) late in the game. But couldn’t quite get over the hump. Loyola hit their FT’s and won 68-61.

Making ODU 1-1 for the season against Loyolas (W vs. Md, L vs. Chi). Maybe they can restart the Vegas 16 and match up ODU and Loyola Marymount.

Who the hell declines a spot in one of the year-in year-out best exempt tournaments? I guess if you're not very competitive you don't want to get shithoused three times against far superior competition, but Atlantis is the best thing CUSA has going for it. The Bahamas Bowl is worth it to keep the Atlantis deal if that's the connection.

Won't they feel stupid when USM wins by 25.

WKU fans going to Nashville - what section are your tickets in? Ours are in 117 but I understood that side of the arena is the Louisville section?

CUSA now 1-4 against Sun Belt. Although (and yeah this matters) all 5 games were @the Sun Belt venue.
