We go way back, you know me better than that if even just from posting.

The FSU thing though? It is just too pie in the sky for my thoughts.

(BTW, that thread had nothing to do with this post, it was a comment in another thread...and I don't even know off the top of my head who was the "commenter")

The difference is that you're not on here telling him that he can't talk about it. ;-)

04-cheers

Also, I am not telling anyone anything they can or cant talk about. Too much internalization going on here as well.

This thread title is in the form of a request, but is merely an opinion.

Amazing.

Is that right.

In 2017 it was 3.8 in the article I could find.

Well, I suppose your request has been answered. We can close the thread now.

Do these stats only include head coaches?

Personally, I think Coach Norvell should be our very own version of Frank Beamer at Virginia Tech.

It worked for one time in NCAA history in a different era, and a very unique set of circumstances that all came together to make it work. This comes up more often then it should, and is asinine.

This is not that. This will never be that. Why? Because nothing else anywhere has ever been that since.

Go buy a lottery ticket.

Maybe Gary Patterson is the closest thing to what Bowden did at FSU. But you're right, it was a different time and things just don't work that way anymore.

So, it has happened twice, big deal. Oh wait Frank Beamer... that's three... PLEASE STOP TALKING ABOUT IT, it has only happened THREE times in the last few decades....

I wonder what all three have in common05-stirthepot

What a miserable thread. Let people dream There were plenty of losers and nerds who said ESPN College GameDay would "never" come to Memphis.

I just went to wiki where it lists all FBS HC's, arranged by year hired and counted to the middle of the group (the median)--and 2017 was the year hired.

Ah, so median vs average.

The median would make sense, because there are firings every year. Obviously, there are fewer coaches that have been around 10+ years.
