49-45 under 2min left - wilting a bit under the pressure to close it out

Lovan with 4 assists
Pearson, Lovan, Gueye with 2 blocks
Lovan, Benjamin with 2 steals

Honestly happy for the W, but is there not minutes for Jude at this point? He’s not gonna get better just watching games two years in a row

The one thing all ugly wins have in common is that they are wins. I'll take it.

I’m not a basketball guy never really got into the sport so I mainly check stats and follow from a win loss perspective. One thing that has stood out this year is we seem to be a really good rebounding team. I think in all of our games we have our rebounded our competition by a pretty wide margin.

Edit: I just went back and looked at the stats and the 4 games we have won we have out rebounded by at least 10 over the other team. In our 1 loss we had 1 less than Utah valley.

We've played some crap teams, but credit where credit is due: Sullivan for Lamar was a legit rebounder, athletic and with decent size. Attwood for them was just a hard nosed ball player and he got his too, but we still outrebounded them as a team.

RE: Lamar
Apparently judging from the shooting there were lots of rebounds to be had tonight. Lamar shot 30% from the field, 17% from 3pt, and 53% from free throw line. We were slightly better from field and 3pt area but 80% from free throw line. Not exactly a clinic in shooting the ball but it's a win. [/align]

I really enjoy listening to Murry's analysis on the radio broadcast. His post-game comments were spot-on last night. He said the 2 things this team does really well are rebound and play defense and that is going to be very important because they don't shoot the ball very well.

amazing how some can’t compliment the team without a put down attached or a back handed compliment. I’ll keep my game opinions and what I heard to myself. At least I was there.

RE: Lamar
Wow, what a great game!!! Our defensive intensity was A+++ and the guys looks like a TEAM. We will miss Bryant's athleticism but I think his departure ( and the availability of Benjamin to run the point) has turned out to be a positive overall. We moved the ball quickly and for the most part, decent passes and movement in playing against their zone. We just couldnt hit 3's and most inside shots were strongly contested by Lamar's extremely athletic team. It was a war down low on both ends of the court. Really an enjoyable , exciting game.

and....we haven't left the state...and the schedule has been extremely favorable. Lets look at it after 8 or at least 10 games. We should have a clearer picture of this years team and what our expectations will (should) be going forward.

And we COULD be 1-4. But we aren’t (which seems to disappoint some of our fans)

What disappoints US is how many of our FANS are so willing to lower the bar for a once proud and relevant program. If WE were 1-4 im sure SOME would blame the fans for not showing up en masse. Maybe even hang a banner for that one victory.
At least for the next 3 games we are going to play some big time basketball. Dont fret you REAL fans, we will return to Montevallo and Thomas soon enough.

Point out who here are willing to lower the bar. You may be confusing being not acting like a jerk and wanting To “lowering the bar” I’ll hang up and listen pawl.

RE: Lamar
If you know of a way to get more teams to come to Bartow let us know.

Unless you have been time traveling one would notice that the environment that existed under Anderson isn't the same regardless of who the coach is.

Haase wins the regular season conference championship yet stays at home come selection Sunday.

Why?

Because the league as a whole doesn't scream extra bids.

So what is the ultimate goal? Winning games, drawing fans, etc. (while still good) or getting your team to play the best it can play during conference season and the tournament by getting a very good conference seeding and hopefully winning the conference tournament?

You are for making every excuse available pawl. For always blaming the fans for not showing up, for excepting terrible schedules pawl. For criticizing different opinions and labeling people as jerks for stating facts pawl.
