Roll Call for CUSA Women's Volleyball Tournament
The women deserve our physical and vocal support. Let's give them a real home crowd advantage. The ladies are 24-2, with both their losses to Top 30 teams, and both in 5th set overtime (14-16).
Game times are: Friday at 5:00pm vs. UTEP, Saturday at 2:30pm (assuming we make the semis) and 12:00noon on Sunday (assuming the rematch with WKU for the championship).
All the visiting teams and the CUSA officials are staying at the Wyndham.

I'll definitely make the final if we're in it. First serve at the same time as the Saturday kickoff is brutal, though. I'll have to think about that. As bad as the game will be, I'm a much bigger football fan than volleyball.

Ah, come on. You can watch the semis at 2:30, and make the entire second half. In fact, if we sweep, we'll likely make it to HRS for the MOB show.

I'll be there for every match except the first one on Friday. Been looking forward to this tourney for months.

People who follow volleyball more closely - we’re a lock for the tourney, regardless of how this conference tournament goes, right?

Yes. Even if we were to lose tonight, we're in.
I'm not sure I agree with all of this person's thoughts, but here's a blog that says we and Western Kentucky are locks. But if too many locks get upset, there will be some bubble busters taking away spots from someone.

Yes, we're a lock and probably a lock as a #2 seed, but if we win the tourney there is still an outside chance of hosting the first round of the NCAAs, December 5 - 8. Our RPI would likely improve to #12 or #13 (we're currently #14), and a win against #19 WKU, avenging one of our two overtime losses, should move us back into the Top 20 (we're currently #21 in the coaches poll). The biggest question is whether the committee would pick a third Texas school to host (along with UT and Baylor, who are locks two of the Top 4 seeds in the tourney).

To make our best case for hosting, we do not want WKU to get upset today or tomorrow. We need to beat them on Sunday.

Quite honestly I don't think it matters. Sure, our RPI would go up a spot or two if we play and beat WKU, but I don't think RPI is going to determine whether or not we get one of the final hosting spots. Our resume already speaks for itself, with both losses coming to Top 30 ranked teams and both coming in 14-16 fifth set overtime.
Having said that I'm sure the team wants the rematch against WKU. WKU and Rice are so heads and shoulders above every other CUSA squad, I think the two of us swept all our CUSA matches save for one or two, and those went only 4 sets. It would be a massive upset if either of us don't reach the Sunday championship game.

Passes at the gate are the same price as advance online, but without the service charge.

Nice crowd yesterday, especially given the conflict with the football game.
Can we get 1,500 in Tudor today for the championship game and the rematch with WKU? It would certainly give the team a much needed boost.
