RE: New Football Commit?
I’m sure that’s common based on Schools with low recruiting funds. We could probably land much better recruits if we didn’t do it that way. Why would you not want a recruit building a relationship with his position coach? It makes zero sense for Tatum and Reeves to be alone at these jucos trying to sell olinemen to come play for us. And yes, they were the lead recruiter on many of our current guys. They knew what they were looking for on defense but it’s kind of like they were told, Hey, ask about some of their Olinemen there, too.

Invent a teleportation device and we can do it that way. As it is, a coach can be in one area going to games and visiting players at a time. So it makes sense that since a coach is going to be in an area, he checks in on all of the recruits we are interested in in that are, and not just the one did that plays his position.
Of course recruits are contacted by their potential position coaches, but when it comes time to hit the road, you pretty much have to divide things up by area.

Let’s split bama’s budget and use a helicopter to fly to each recruits school.

It’s the most common recruiting structure in all of CFB. It’s not only the recruit he has to build a relationship with it’s his HS coach. They want someone they know. One of the failures of previous staffs is that they didn’t build consistency with the HS coaches.

Through a tweet could it have been position coach RB , lead recruiter OL coach? We know Owens was McGee’s Florida guy and Clark lost his Florida guy in Williams and replace him with a former Florida lead recruiter under Garrick. Both seem to have pretty good connections.

Would be nice to wrap up some decent signings during the December period.

RE: New Football Commit?
OL/DL Lance Robinson, visited UAB during the Inferno weekend(Its the weekend prior to the beginning of fall camp) as a Georgia Southern commit. Evan Dudley reported that he flipped to us that weekend. However, he remained committed to them up until last night. Not saying we have any relation to it, but could be a name to keep an eye on.

Anyone know the status of rumored recruit Zaire Fluornoy? He also supposedly committed around Inferno weekend.

Also, anyone know how many UAB is signing this year? Senior class is small. Not sure how many of them are on scholarship.

The only 2 deep players we lose are OL Dufour, OL Galten, WR Parham, TE Blakes on offense. On defense; JACK Mofor, DT Marino, STAR Brooks, SAF Dawkins, and DT Johnson.

Of those, based on playing time and impact this year the most significant graduation losses are 1) Marino, 2) Mofor, 3) Parham, 4) Dawkins. Dufour is also an impactful loss, but he has been out for more than half this season.

Evan reported Zaire, one of those that never announced. Same with Isaiah forte(247 sports reports) and Dacarrion McWilliams, never went public since inferno. Just been an assumption we’d get em since then. Charlotte has been making a strong play for Forte.
