RE: New Football Commit?
He could have committed. Didn’t say he was, just posted pics from his visit. If he goes up there and sees Purdue’s new facilities, he’ll be tough to sign in a month.

RE: New Football Commit?
With McBride committing, you have to wonder if Tajae Davis will remain pledged to us. If we take both, somebody out of the 6 RBs isn’t playing here next season or is changing positions. I could see Spencer moving to Fullback or LB/DE. No one has an answer on Spencer. Was he not healthy prior to his injury vs Rice, because he was playing poorly then and yes, I’ll credit some of that to the Oline.

Most of his highlights are as a defensive player...

Part of the reason I’m just waiting on signing day. He did strike a RB pose on the tweet and a certain offensive position coach.

We would put an athlete on defense, that’s why we don’t really have any on offense.

Graduating all but one OLine starter and having the only retuning starter injured has more to do with it

Either the Oline is an issue or it’s not. I continue to be told it’s not and that injuries are the problem, but can’t get an answer on why there’s such a huge drop off when guys from the 2nd rotation are forced into action. On top of that, if the 2s can’t go, is it because of poor recruiting or lack of development? So it’s either a Oline issue, lack of athletes problem, or both.
Anyhow. Guess I should try to be less snarky.

Lack of depth is not due to poor recruiting. It’s due to the program being shut down. You know when we had zero players and had to go full judo t field a decent team. We graduated 35 last year. Virtually all of our starters. The fact that we have eight wins is damn near a miracle and I don’t believe in miracles!

It’s year 3. Clark in preseason was the one harping on Oline depth.

my solution IS recruiting a bunch of TE and move them to OL :)

That’s pretty much what we’ve done with Pittman, Blakes and Prince.
Speaking of Oline. Clark said they had plans to go with 6 Olineman in formation going into game 2 but they had to scrap it when Galten went down. Then they had to scramble a bit more with Dufour going down. But now they feel they can use that here late in the season with those two returning. He seemed excited about what we can do up front in the upcoming week, hopefully weeks!

exactly! we have depth issues due to being forced to rely on JUCO's so heavily to restart our program. Clark understood if he built through high school players we would have records like UTEP and no fans and the wolves would be at the door trying to shut us back down. Having depth issues in year three of the return was the price of winning early. kicking the juco habit is not easy but as long as they prioritize high school when possible the program should be on sound footing after next year. the number of jucos we announce on signing day will let us know where we stand on that path.

This again?
Clark could’ve built a more balanced roster from start and been fine. Almost could’ve recruited straight from the high school ranks with these schedules. Heck next years schedule looks even softer.

this year yes we could have matched the season. the last two would have looked like McGee records.

I doubt it, the greatest thing Clark has going is that defense all four years has been pretty stout in different areas.

Tagging the RB coach in your commitment post gives mixed signals.
