There should be some sort of rule against that. I mean, they don't even really try to hide it.

I don't know why people are upset about this. The SEC schedules one of their out of conference cupcakes late in the season to help players get healthy, instead of piling them up in the first weeks of the season like other conferences.

Would it make a difference if last year UC had played Alabama A&M in week 10 instead of week 3?

I say the SEC is just smart. After all, not many UConn's on their conference schedule.

Gives them an opportunity to rest some players in the 2nd half if need be...late in the season.

Well, usually this is the conference portion of the schedule.

People schedule the FCS's and other cupcakes early in the season to work the kinks out.

Now is the time to be in midseason form. That's why its' called "midseason" form. That's when you're supposed to be playing your best.

To be playing Western Carolina at this point in the season... it's just a bad look.

You know, like when you drive through a construction area and you see 1 guy actually doing something and 5 guys standing there watching... maybe it's all totally legit, but it sure looks bad.
It doesn't hurt them in the polls though.

What if they lose? Hmmm?

I think most college football fans want to see the best G5 team given a chance, but I don't think anyone wants to see a team like this year's Miami (and there'd be at least one almost every year) get tossed around like a plastic #$%@ doll by LSU or Ohio State.

So why does Farleigh-Dickenson not garner an argument all the time in the NCAA BBT?

TO me, a 16-teamer makes BY FAR the most sense, and it allows for advantage to be given to the best teams, while still making money hand over fist.
Yes, it must get to the point where every league's champ has a chance. If not 16 I like 12 with the 4 highest rated league champs receiving a bye the first week.

Apples and oranges. The basketball tournament has zero relevance in deciding how to expand the football playoffs, two different sports.

Screw this everybody gets a trophy BS. I want to see competitive games in the playoffs, and only the AAC and MWC champs are going to offer that on a consistent basis. A 16 team playoff, and you're essentially guaranteeing three blowouts almost every single year. Perhaps we should take the idea of first round on-campus games off the table too since that would be unfair to the lower seeds. And while we're at it, let's put two touchdowns on the board for them to start the game.....or better yet not keep score at all and award the "win" to the team that shows the best grit and sportsmanship. If the AAC really wants to take this P6 branding seriously, it and its fans need to stop acting like we have anything in common with the MAC, Sunbelt or CUSA.

If I were King of the Forest, this would be the playoff:

8 Teams: 5 P5 Champs, highest rated G5 and 2 at-large decided by a transparent BCS type formula put in place before the season starts. First round games at the top 4 seeds stadiums. Let the chips fall where they may, and if the AAC and MWC start to doing some damage in the playoffs, then push for them to get auto-bids and leave the rabble behind once and for all.

The everyone gets a trophy take is the most tired take, in the history of takes.

National champions shouldn't be a subjective thing. When you pick the teams who get in, it makes it subjective. Allowing all conference champs in, at least takes away the subjectivity. I'm not sure that I'm love with it, but it's better than what we have now. Also the talent would probably start to spread itself out, if they know if they play for the best MAC school they'd get a shot in the playoffs.

That'd also assume that we'd want the most fair thing and not the most profitable thing.

Need to be realistic. 8 teams. 5 P5 champs. Highest G5. 2 wild cards which could be anyone. Often may be ND + ?

4 games at highest ranked teams site week after Conference Champ game. Round 2 and 3 in bowls as currently. 4 loser to bowl slots.

Right now:
UC/MEM/BSU @LSU
UT@ OSU
AL @ CLEM
OR@ GA

Local fans assure packed houses.

I assume English is your second language so I won't pick on you for how hard some of your posts are to understand. But if I understand correctly, I'm not saying it's impossible, but I'm pretty skeptical about the 4 1st round losers then going to "regular" bowls. How would that work in terms of scheduling and practicality?

RE: Week Thirteen On The College Gridiron
was listening to some collegiate gridiron sportstalk this am. it was those guys on 1530 in the wee hours. like those guys. they were rattling off osu's wins, talking about the margin of victory and referred to the notion that the schedule wasn't very strong, cincinnati, they said, was probably their best win

that's what i'm talking about

O$U makes 3 really bad turnovers, and still wins going away vs Penn state.

No wonder we got smoked. I am not an O$U fan, but those guys are good.

21 unanswered points in the 2Q after USF missed a field goal. Imagine USF missing a field goal!

If you don't wrap up their backs they get north and south fast.

Enjoyed the little sit in at halftime of Harvard-Yale by all the overprivileged brats.

Go save the world, little enlightened ones! We'll see how many of you join the peace corp. upon graduation.
