RE: CFB Rankings Ep. 2
Commissioner Aresco addressed CFP ratings on ESPN. Complained about SMU being below App St. and the league being dissed.

John Feinstein also has an article in the Wash Post titled. "AAC football is every bit as good as ACC but can't get into the same club". Picture of Gerrid Doaks. Story rips on the ACC with some mentioning of the AAC.

The ACC made the critical mistake of taking Syracuse and Pitt the last go around, instead of the three best programs in the old Big East- WvU, UC and UofL. Yes WVU is struggling in the B12, but I think their coaching situation has been a big part of it. They’ll get it figured out. That being said, they took Pitt and Syracuse due to academic snobbery not football potential- it would be like the next go around a conference took Tulane and SMU instead of UC, UCF, or Houston.

Bolded is spot on. And the ultimate irony was then throwing academic profile under the bus by taking Louisville as the next expansion candidate.

I do believe articles such as this matter. A steady stream of commentary on the growing profile of the American can't hurt in any way and certainly helps the high flying members such as Cincinnati the most. P5 expansion candidates now reside almost exclusively in the AAC.

New rankings out. Memphis 18, UC 19, Boise 20. Good thing 8-3 Iowa #17) slaughtered Illinois to prove they are better than the three of us non-Ps. Oh wait - they barely beat Illinois...while we beat a good Temple team but they must be better than us because they are BIG!

So it looks to me like if UC win Friday and then loses the next game Boise gets the bid. Same with Memphis. So whoever wins Friday better win the CCG or the AAC is toast for the NY6 Cotton bowl. I don't think Navy jumps Boise either if they win the CCG.

Boise could still lose again.

Yep.. whatever they can do to keep the AAC a peg below the P5 and particularly the ACC. Win whatever bowls we're all assigned to and prove our teams can beat up on both the P5 and G5.. Just like most of us did with our OOC games.

RE: CFB Rankings Ep. 2
Here is what the CFP committee is saying.

You G5's are nerds. We're putting highly mediocre Iowa right ahead of all of you to prove that.

Since we HAVE to include you... AAC, you're at the head of the line but if UC and Memphis split, we're moving Boise ahead of you.

Appaloosa St in at 25 is like the runner up in a beauty contest. If the winner is unable to fulfill their obligation (UC, Memphis and Boise ALL lose), they get it.
