I agree. Something we probably don't talk about enough here is the decision he made to stick around. After he lost the starting QB job to a transfer in the same class as him he could've easily transfered, sat this year, then had 2 years to try to be the guy at that school. Instead he made the decision almost no one makes today and decided to come back and fight for the job. Insert gif of the dad from A Knights Take talking about how changing stars.

I know I've beat this drum for a while but I'll say it again. The decision to make Crum the holder on kicks last year was a colossal F*** Up. I think it's the biggest mistske Lewis has made to date. He could've still been the backup QB and not played in more than 4 games. Imagine the outlook of our program right now if Crum had two more years with McKoy?!? I'll also point out Crum should've redshirted his freshman year but was forced into action after all the other QBs were hurt. We can thank our money games for that.

A year of Collin Schlee studying the system, working with Matt Johnson/Sean Lewis and an off-season of hitting the weight room is going to make you forget about that colossal screw up real quick.

I hope you're right but I remember similar optimism for Colin Reardon during his redshirt year. What I do know is Crum is no longer potential he's reality. So I have a hard time seeing 2021 anti-zip saying thank god Crum is gone.

I don’t think you’ll be saying that.

But there’s a reason Reardon never evolved and seemed instead to regress.

Just as there is a reason Dustin has taken a monumental step from last year to this.

Speculation, but I agree with you. Collin is a supreme athlete with pro size. He is all state in FB and BB. We are lucky to have him and QB is in good shape for the future.

After getting into the redzone we had a few plays with the clock running where we snapped it with around 15 on the play clock. So we're giving it back with 2:11 left on the clock when it could've been 1:30 or under.

But this offense has been fun to watch today.

Just got back home from Saturday's game - had to spend an evening celebrating at Ray's. As noted a fun game to watch and agree with the tempo - we scored so quickly a couple of times the defense didn't get a rest. I was impressed by the ability to get the plays off with few or no penalties for substitutions or illegal formations. Huntley for BSU is a load but we seemed to have guys in position and they just missed tackles. I have been going to games at Dix for 50 years and yesterday I really watched our wideouts on every play. I can't remember a team in recent years where receivers were blocking downfield. These guys were getting and sticking with blocks that really helped on some of the longer runs we had. Likewise disappointing student turnout.

Unfortunately on the ride home I listened to the women's hoop team getting pounded.

I'm excited to see Schlee too and I agree he seems like a great get. I'm just saying we have our best QB since Edelman or Cribbs starting right now so two more years of that would be so exciting. As for Schlee's pro size, he's the same size as Crum and Crum's pretty darn athletic in his own right. Just pointing out the grass isn't always greener.

JimJoyce I agree with what you're saying that coaching is why Reardon regressed. But if this program continues the way it's going I expect that Lewis and company will be gone before we see Schlee develop anyways.

I'll add, the guys we're discussing are significantly more exciting than the Bollas's, Mitchell's, Strocks, and Agers of the world... So these are first world "problems" lol.
