This was UAB's first win over a team with a winning record this season. Better late than never.......lol

Looks like UAB fans are really pouring it on us. If Tucker makes that catch we probably win it and the game was closer that I thought it would be.
Good luck in the championship game UAB - I think UNT has already mailed it in for this season.

And if UAB runs the ball and kicks a field goal instead of throwing an end zone pick, you'd have been looking at a two-score deficit when Tucker made that catch.
Yes, we're pouring it on. Chanting "We have football" during the 2015 basketball tournament did not score you any points with the faithful.

We lost by 7. We threw 4 interceptions. We were driving toward the tying score when we threw #4.
Enjoy those sour grapes.

Keep the disrespect coming. It seems to have worked well for us these last few years.

A loss to a UAB team which graduated 35 players, including 4 of 5 on the OL, all the starting WRs, and 8 of 11 on D... plus one of the three who returned, our preseason All-Conference CB took a season ending injury before game one. A UAB team that was picked to be 4th or 5th in CUSA West.
I seem to remember a lot of talk about how once all the 28 year old UAB Jucos graduated things would be set right.
You did have an unusual number of 24 to 28-yr olds, with special waivers, on that team. That's not in dispute. But that's beside the point now.
I think you know UAB dodged a big bullet this time. And while Tech fans everywhere will readily admit that the pain was no doubt self-inflicted, the untimely suspensions never-the-less were a huge difference maker for Tech in today's game. This Tech offense went from averaging 45 points a game to scoring only 10 and 14 respectively since the never used Freshman took the helm last Friday against Marshall.
UAB played a good, solid game today, and earned the win. But for the love of god don't act like Tech was at full speed. But I do admit, your timing was perfect.
I know y'all weren't at full speed. Neither were we. This was our QB's second college start. If Johnston had been able to play he's a threat for 300-400 yards passing in any given game.
As it was, if your receiver does not drop the ball when he was wideass open, it would have been 21-20, and I don't know that we had the offense to score quickly enough to overcome that. I understand that as well as you do.
As to the composition of our team, you need to remember that we lost all our players, including guys who are starting in the NFL now. We lost our assistant coaches. We lost our recruits. The choice was to start a team of 18 and 19 year olds and get obliterated the way SMU did when they came back, or to take a more intelligent approach. Coach Clark found diamonds and pearls all over Juco football. He had to, and you understand that as well as I do. It was a one shot thing. It's not like we're BYU, who routinely has players go out on church work and return to play as 24 and 25 year olds every year.
I also understand that we're going to view things differently, but so far as we are concerned you got a gift of a TD from the refs.
Good post, UAB Band Dad. I gave you some rep points for that one.

The only team that plays in the East that routed us was Tennessee, but they play in the SEC East.
