I don't think I've seen a CFA employee that could bench over 70 lbs.

One of the pettiest and most pathetic thread titles and posts of all time.

When something this meaningless is what makes you happy, you need to seriously examine your life and priorities.

You have DEEP, DEEP issues.

But they just can't grasp that Christianity proclaims that we should condemn the sin and love the sinner. Not lost on me in all of this is how Chic-fil-a has started down the slippery slope of abandoning their principles. They have abandoned two organizations who were as faithful and uncompromising as Chic-fil-a has been. What's it going to be next? Are they going to decide to open on Sundays for extra profit? Sad to see quite frankly as it will not end well. You are either faithful or you are not. There is no in between.

It doesn’t have any thing to do with loving them. They just want everyone to proclaim THEM as the normal ones. It’s all of us heterosexual god fearing folk that are somehow deviant.

I covered that in my second post in this thread. They don't like anything that calls them immoral. And Biblical teaching does exactly that. You should read all the posts.

Agreed.

They act like God's Word is against them personally, but its just as much "against" heterosexuals.

We are fornicators, adulterers, liars, thieves, and have broke pretty much all the laws and commandments.

Whats different for Christians is we have admitted and repented of those sins and strive to avoid them and give our life to Christ to honor His grace towards us. We are not perfect, we still battle sin and temptations as well.

Unbelievers often don't want to repent because they live and enjoy their sin and don't want to give it up. What they don't realize is your love for those things fades as you let Christ and the Word in. Eventually you are not giving up things you love at all, you are purging things that you hate and you know He hates.

Oh come on man the bar weighs 45 lbs. Surely they can throw a 10 and a 5 on there for at least one rep.

What they don't realize is your love for those things fades as you let Christ and the Word in. Eventually you are not giving up things you love at all, you are purging things that you hate and you know He hates.

It's really simple isn't it? For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. If we are faithful and just to confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive them. And God, casts our sin into the sea of forgetfulness and remembers them no more. And that's good because we do remember them and they are grievous to us and that is why we seek to sin no more. And it is in seeking to sin no more that we demonstrate our salvation in ways not intended to lead to pride, but in humility meant to serve as a testimony to our faith and why we too are compelled to forgive those who trespass against us. Therefore we do not hate the sinner, but seek their salvation out of love, all the while despising their sin which seeks to destroy them.

There is nothing oppressive, hateful, or unjust in any of it. But if we should cause one of his to stumble it is better that we have a millstone placed around our neck and that we be thrown into the sea. That's shorthand for God didn't place us here to lead others astray.

What's going on with the whole LGBTQ issue is that they want the blessing of the church and of man to remain as they are and they know they might be able to pressure man into giving it, but they hate all things relating the truth about God because even they know that God cannot be changed. And because of that they try to force the church, which is administered by man, to recreate a god in their image, but where that happens the false church that is created dies.

Most people are guilty of breaking the very first commandment, creating their own god and placing him before their Creator.

One of the most common things people today say is they reject the Bible and the Gospel, but believe in the God they have created in their own opinion and mind.

The U.S. fast food chain said that as it expands, it will no longer donate to the Salvation Army, the Paul Anderson Youth Home, and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, which opposes same-sex marriage. The company’s charity, the Chick-fil-A Foundation, has donated millions of dollars to the two organizations.

“We made multi-year commitments to both organizations and we fulfilled those obligations in 2018,” a representative for Chick-fil-A said, saying the chain will now focus its charitable donations on “education, homelessness and hunger.”

You're pretty fixated on fast food.

This move may turn away future good employees. If they continue down this path I foresee them opening on Sundays also. When that occurs they are just another run of the mill fast food joint.

That's pretty much what I thought they were before all this crap started up. As far as the food goes, I still think that. I think I've eaten there twice.

Eventually its going to be a conditon to land a prime location and based on this behavior they will compromise.

Once they compromise for one location it will spread to all and become the norm

The Salvation Army is probably one of the most efficiently run organizations for helping the down and out ever. From mostly volunteer labor to getting the most dollars and % of dollars to those in need.

Yeah damn fine job by the leftist, something to really be proud of huh?

It has always been one of my favorite charities, partly for the reasons you listed. I had no idea about their views on same sex marriage.

I disagree with them, but support their right to have a different view, based on their religious beliefs, which is a freedom we should never truncate.

I will continue to donate to them.

When everything was destroyed by hurricane Katrina there were two trucks providing food for people that were working and those in need. One was charging $3 for sandwiches. The other just a few yards away was handing sandwiches out for free. One was the Red Cross and the other The Salvation Army.
I will always feel good about donating my hard earned money to the SA. The Red Cross? Not so much.

Agree. Red Cross is a disaster of an organization.

I suppose it might change.

My father looked into a franchise many years ago. They had some stringent requirements for both the franchisee and the market. That's been over 20 years ago. I suspect their rigidity in franchising and market analysis hasn't changed. It doesn't look like it has.

Once something has been around that long, it isn't easy to change.

No organization is perfect but it's been my experience that the Red Cross overall is a very efficient organization and they do a great job. I've worked with them during disaster responses, when they have placed families displaced by structure fires, and once we had a major brush fire that we worked for over 36 hours. A Red Cross official who lived nearby came up to offer their assistance. They feed our crews two meals, had coffee and cold drinks ready for us and provided us with warming tents (it was in the low 30's) so our folks could get out of the cold when they were taking a break.

The Salvation Army does a great job as well, but they are much more limited in scope than the Red Cross.
