NEXT 2 GAMES
I'll start by saying I am fired up for a game which has potential MAC championship riding on it...pretty cool. I feel the next two games, will determine my own take on coach Hammock' s season. So there are three possibilities regarding our regular season.( 4 -8, 5 - 7, 6 - 6). Alsotomorrow, shall be our first " must win game" under Hammock..think the outcome will speak loudly on this team, and coaching staff.
At 4 - 8, there are no excuses, and the year will be horrible, and there will not be tangible reason(s) to anticipate change for next season and / or near future.
At 5 - 7 you can argue, the season was salvaged, yet know one will anoint him as our coaching savior..but makes next year quite compelling.
At 6 - 6, I for one can say I was too harsh on Hammock's first year, and can give him the benefit of the doubt going into next season.
My own take on the last two games is we shall either win, or lose both..don't in vision going 1-1..as a Huskies fan I am putting my chips on 2 -0, and will be very frustrated, and disappointed with anything less.
Go Northern!

I will add that the Toledo victory was incredibly important to the overall psyche of Huskie Nation who needed a jolt of confidence. I know I needed it.

RE: NEXT 2 GAMES
Personally, I think Hammock has done a great job of creating culture, accountability, and high expectations on and off the field. If our LBs aren't decimated we probably win a couple more games. If our coaching staff were experienced we probably win a couple more games. Hopefully, we win tonight and next week and play in a bowl game. That will provide a lot of momentum going into next season when we hopefully see dominant play at LB and the coaching staff shows experience and maturity. The staff knows how to coach. They had an amazing defensive game plan against Ball State before the offense wet the bed and the double TE formation directly led to a tremendous comeback win against Ohio. Some ill advised offensive calls cost us the Vanderbilt and Miami games, but hopefully that's just growing pains.

RE: NEXT 2 GAMES
Any chance they get a bid at 5-7 like what almost happened in 2016? It seems like there wont be enough 6-6 teams to fill out the bowl spots. Where is NIU's graduation rate or whatever they factor the 5-7 teams by?

Wish they never would give bowl bids to losing teams. That’s the definition of participation trophy.

What's the harm in it? Nothing wrong with another bowl game to watch over the holidays.

RE: NEXT 2 GAMES
This team could use the extra practice reps. That beyond anything else is the reason to want a bowl game

That and a chance to go 7-6 and win a bowl, any bowl, for the first time since whenever. End the season on the upswing. But definitely no 5-7 team to a bowl.

I mean it’s good for the team, but on the national level you are rewarding teams with losing records? Takes any credibility away from what’s left of bowl games.

I would agree. It may be another 4 or 5 touchdown loss.
