Monday Musings
The Footballing Eagles will take on the Huskies in an I-94 matchup in Dekalb on national TV a victory here will help us in the quick lane bowl quest for a potential match up with the 6-6 Spartans.
The Basketballing Eagles defeated the Mean Green in the black jack party pit of the Imperial Palace Jamaica.. oh wait no they played in Denton Texas a solid win none the less and gets 17 more for the auto-extension for our author/coach Murphy.
I am rooting for McElwain to keep winning so he can be one and done at CMU. Maybe he can to Cincy after Luke Fickel goes to MSU or Iowa State....
How many scenarios are there out there for MAC West champ???? We have none..
Hoping Sports betting comes to this state soon because we ALL could have paid our mortgage on Cowboys -7 on Sunday.

I had the royals at 30:1 to win the World Series in 2014. It was a 20 dollar bet in Vegas. I refused to hedge my bet the entire WS, and yes the runner should've tried for home instead of letting Mad Baum strike out the next guy.

RE: Monday Musings
I’ve been an advocate for firing Murphy since last season went awry in January/February, but if he keeps winning games that he’s not supposed to, I’m fine with him staying. I’m still on the guarded side of optimism...let’s see how our next 6 games go, which are all against mid majors. But he seems different this year.

Keeping with your gambling theme, NIU only giving 4.5 in Dekalb makes me want to throw some money down. They’re going to run Harbison down our throats, and I don’t know if our offense will be able to keep up. Seems like that spread should be higher.

EagleSam, I agree with both things you mentioned, first Murphy seems excited with this team, and I've not seen that in long time! Plus, it's possible we get two new puzzle pieces in Binelli, and possibly Gibson!!!!!! Our next 6 games are all against decent D1 competition!!! As far as the football team goes, I would be shocked if we beat N Illinois especially being away!!!!!!! Our defense can't stop the run period, and N Illinois has 2 very good RB!!!!!! Glass always makes a bad throw as well lately which results in an interception! Toledo and Buffalo rushed for almost 700 yards against us!!!!! Anything's possible, but I think we'll have to out score them to win!!!!! And in close games, we've not had a consistent FG kicker either!

RE: Monday Musings
A different topic:

I usually like to say how good our athletes have it now with the Convo, SAPC, etc.

After reading about the Alabama QB: "The hip wasn't the only injury Tagovailoa suffered on the hit. He was concussed and broke his nose, which doctors also repaired Monday." Tua was airlifted to Birmingham.

I realize how fortunate it is to be a 1/2 miles from St. Joes Hospital.

In case of a very serious injury an athlete can be to St. Joes quickly. No traveling 10 or 20 miles, no air lifts, etc. etc.

Should be interesting to see how the NFL sees him.

I kind of thought of him as a "poor man's Russell Wilson."
