+1. But I’m afraid the adoration and man love will continue well into the offseason because members of his cult have nothing more in their lives.

" Tyquan Hammock comes to NIU after spending the 2018 season as defensive backs coach at Kentucky Christian, an NAIA school in Grayson, Ky. Under his guidance, cornerback Harmand St. Hubert earned first team All-Mid South Conference Bluegrass Division honors.
A 2013 graduate of Michigan State, Hammock was a three-year letterwinner for the Spartans from 2009-12. He began his career at MSU at fullback before moving to linebacker his sophomore year and was a key member of the Spartans’ special teams.
The brother of NIU head coach Thomas Hammock, he spent five years as director of group living at Rite of Passage before getting his coaching start at Kentucky Christian. He and his wife Kenya have two daughters, Kyleigh and Sadie. "
Wow!

I want people to take the NIU seriously when we win games. And this means upping our competition and leaving the conference.
This means ripping the band-aid off and running an offense that can not only move the ball, but light up scoreboards. This year has been tough, but I'm all in.
I hate the MAC's contract with ESPN and I do think that too many weeknight games are eroding the fan base. However, aside from that, the MAC is a good fit for NIU. Our sister institutions in the MAC are similarly sized and many of them have good to excellent academic reputations. Athletic facilities are generally comparable and no one school has a strong recruiting advantage over another.
Until or unless the state of Illinois makes a decision to fund NIU at a significantly higher level we are likely staying put. In many ways NIU has declined a bit as a university and like it or not we have been slipping behind some of the other MAC schools. I spent much of my career in Ohio and I worked with and hired staff from Miami, Ohio U., BGSU and Buffalo. These are excellent schools and solid peer institutions for NIU.
I have been impressed with president Freeman so far and I am hoping that she is able to get us on a better trajectory. If she is not, we might be fortunate to remain in the MAC.

Excellent analysis, very well stated.

Best way to forget about my boy, Coach carey... stop bringing him up and alluding to him...promise you I won't be cause he has no bearing or relevance on my school at this point. However, being appreciative for what he accomplished I will always go to bat for him as a coach, based on what he did as a coach for my school, and how is doing after getting a hire level, paying job.. Hopefully, the haters with misguided animosity t[towards coach Carey, can stop bringing him up..let's move on girls
