UCA thread
The Bears are 1-3 with their win being over Hendrix. Last time out they lost to Duke by 51.

They likely will start 7-0, 6-9, 6-7 across the front line and they can bring 7-0, 7-0 off the bench. So, they are even taller than we are.

They have three players averaging double figures, led by 6-7 sophomore Eddy Kayouloud and 6-6 Rylan Bergersen at 12.0 ppg. They are a terrible shooting team: 38% overall and 25% from the arc. Along with the way we have been shooting, there ought to be a lot of shots clanging off the rim. We can be hopeful, however, because their opponents have shot at a 40% rate from the arc. They have a 10-man rotation.

Sagarin picks us by 8 points.
RealtimeRPI picks UCA by 9.
Not much agreement there.

RE: UCA thread
I guess that makes it toss-up. I am looking at today's game as a sign that we are actually better this season. 0-5 against in state competition last season was pretty depressing.

A whole lot of fouls and missed jumpers by both teams.

RE: UCA thread
We can't hit a 3-pointer for sour apples.

We're winning the boards by 4.

Johnson, Monyyong and Lottie all with three fouls.

And there have been. We are 9 of 31, they are 5 of 27. Pretty pathetic shooting.

RE: UCA thread
It took a while, but we finally got started.

Defense was outstanding. When you hold anyone to 25.5% shooting, that sounds like Virginia.
Plus-10 on the boards, Monyyong with 14. Nowell with 8, which ain't bad for a 5-7 kid.

Nowell 7 assists vs. only 2 turnovers. That is huge.
Lottie had his best game in a while. 10 pts, 5 boards, 5 of 9 shooting.

Glad to see Dunkum get a couple of minutes PT.
