The backcourt is just getting destroyed. Not just spikes but service aces.

UTSA showed up ready to play, and apparently didn't get the memo stating they're supposed to roll over for Rice. Rice hasn't had their morning coffee yet.

They looked pretty complacent last night. I love the volleyball team’s general positivity, but they need someone to royally chew them out now and put some of the sunshine to bed

No Rice Sushi roll jokes, please. Save that for the UAB Dragon Rolls.

Now let’s flip that switch and do what we do best.

WKU team watching the game and probably are feeling extra confident about tomorrow.

WKU didn't exactly dominate FAU earlier this afternoon. The first 2 sets could have gone either way.

No question, we again came out sluggish, and that first set was quite likely the worst set of volleyball we played all year. And, yes, we almost choked away the second set. However, from that point on we dominated. IMO, Lee Ann was our savior today. She, too, had a horrific first set, unable to dig anything, but she was lights out from the 2nd set on, saving attack after attack, and putting the ball in really good setting position for Adria and Carly.

Hopefully, those last 2 sets will give us confidence heading into tomorrow championship match up. Time to avenge our loss to WKU and defend our conference championship.

RE: 2019 CUSA Women's Volleyball Championship
There were a couple of upsets in conference tournaments today. Most notably, South Dakota lost just its second match of the year - now they may be left at home come Selection Sunday next week. I do think both Rice and WKU are in, regardless of the outcome tomorrow. Both teams also have a chance to host, but only the winner has much of a chance to host (and Rice probably a better chance just because of the RPI).

But Rice has UT and Baylor who will be hosting and I doubt Texas would land 3 hosting spots.

RE: 2019 CUSA Women's Volleyball Championship
I took Walt's advice and missed the best first half of Rice football all year to see the worst first set of Rice volleyball all year. Luckily, Coach Volpe settled the team down and got them to play up to their potential. I'm worried that we won't have enough slack to suffer through another slow start tomorrow. WKU won't squander the opportunities that we gave UTSA and UTEP.

That has been my thought, Tiki, BUT if we do win tomorrow, our RPI will almost certainly climb to #12 or #13, and we would have added a second win against a Top 20 team. We also have wins against Texas State, UCF and Ole Miss-- all likely tournament teams. And our only two losses would have been to Top 30 ranked team, both in fifth set OT (14-16).

If we win tomorrow I think we have a 50-50 chance. Unfortunately, I'm already committed to be at the Stanford first round matches.
