"Must fix" numbers
After three games some of our numbers are pretty good, a few even very good. A few, however, are not.

We are allowing opponents to shoot 35.9% from the arc. That is not completely awful, but it is when we are shooting only 24.5%. A ten-point differential from the arc will get you killed in today's game.

Our starting point guard is averaging 39.7 minutes per game. That is too many over the course of a long season. For one thing, it is doubtful that he can play at full speed all the time without at least some rest. In the second place, that is either forcing Lottie to play SG, which he definitely is NOT, or Nowell is playing SG at 5-7, which is also not a good idea at the D1 level.

RE: "Must fix" numbers
So far we do not shoot the three at a very good percentage. Our front line has done this so far:
Coupet, 13.7 ppg. Bankston, 9.7 ppg. Root, 9.7 ppg. And then you add Nikola. Those numbers are similar to last year. But last year we relied heavily on rayjon's outside shooting. So far this year it is from the paint. I think the kicker is halfway through the season we add Nikola to the mix.
Do we start this lineup

Nikola
Ruot
Bankston
Coupet
Nowell
And how bout Nowell 20 ppg.

RE: "Must fix" numbers
We had a guy last year who averaged 20 ppg, and we lost 20 games. I had a lot rather have a guy averaging 6 assists per game. But if we don't find a shooter somewhere, folks will begin to collapse on us more and more.

I think Coupet adds a huge dimension to the team with his versatility.

I do think our front line is the strength of this team so far. Monyyong has been as advertised, which is good.

We have a guy averaging 20 this year too. As I said, Rajons points were mostly from the perimeter.

RE: "Must fix" numbers
I was curious where Nowell was mainly shooting from, and not surprisingly, it is from the arc. 21 of 45 attempts are from there. The trouble is, he is not hitting his 3-point attempts (29%). He is shooting 58% from inside the arc, which is pretty amazing for a guy as small as he is. He knows how to make layups among the trees.

RE: "Must fix" numbers
At the moment we have two guys averaging over 7 rpg - Johnson and Coupet. And Johnson is doing it with only 23 minutes per game.

Yep. We have a pretty good front line now. And then we add Nikola.
