I finally listened to the other half of the podcast. Yeah, Calkins made the right points. GP backed down quickly, and - as predicted - tried to turn it into a joke.

Bennett Doyle should have challenged GP on it initially, but he's turned into the same yes-man producer that Cowboy Carson was. I guess GP prefers an echo chamber in the control room.

Yep, Bennett never had a problem stating his opinion or challenging Jason and John. So you know it is all GP putting the clamps on him. Honestly, there is very little to like about GP.

Other poster was right also, all jokes aside, GP looks like he is mid 50s. All that alcohol and nose candy really takes a toll.

HE HAS LMS , BETTER KNOWN AS LITTLE MAN SYNDROME .

they got lucky, this could have gone really bad, but looks like they were lucky and it is going to pay off..

just because you were wrong doesnt mean they were lucky. Anyone paying attention knows Ballin and team dont work on the basis of luck.

This is going exactly how Fishman laid out in the interview. They sped up the process, they are able to negotiate a penalty without laying down and hoping they are merciful, and get it resolved without hurting the UofM or Wiseman in the process. (assuming that the settlement is what most of us are thinking it will be)

Yeah, I caught part of that. He did his bit about how us fans are angry at the settlement and wanted to fight. But he knew better than us all along, and he promises us that we will like this settlement much better. Just as he told us about Beale Street and GameDay when we were ALL MAD about it.

He also said that the University of Memphis, the lawyers, and James "finally realized" that a settlement was better - again, just as he said from the beginning.

Bottom line: He knows better than anyone else.
What a tool.

You left out that he was the first one to say tubby had to be fired while everyone else wanted to keep him.

Personally I was disgusted when I heard he was hired.

What a load of crock. Fans wanted this settled as soon as possible so that they can focused strictly on enjoying the on-the-court matters but to get to that point Wiseman and the University had to stand up to the bully. Its the bully that didn’t want this to go any further and if the NCAA got its way without a fight then Wiseman probably would had been sitting out indefinitely on the NCAAs clock

RE: GP tactics
I tried to listen today, I really did. I had the radio on "that station", and when the clock struck 4, I was up to my elbows in drywall mud, so I just thought... let it roll, let's see what he has to say today. After literally 12 minutes of program, I had to turn it off. Does he... no, he can't understand how much of a narcissist he really is. 12 solid minutes about HIM at the Grizzlies game. Not about the game. About HIM at the game. What a doush.
