Even without Yetna and Kiir, USF returns six of their 9-man rotation from a year ago, including their two leading scorers.
One would not expect this big of a dropoff.

What Impact will this have on USF's hopes for NCAA tournament?
USF will NOT be going to the NCAA tournament. Or the NIT tournament. We suck out loud.
I mentioned well before the season that our basketball team NEVER performs remotely well when there are any expectations. The only time we seem to do much of anything is when we sneak up on people.
I'm not convinced we'll finish the season above .500.

It is the Brian Gregory syndrome. Dude gets a modestly good year early in his tenure to build up expectations, then flames out with fans basically ushering him out of town.

Can't blame injuries on him.

Big losses. They probably need some time to figure it out. I expect they will have a similar year to last year, with maybe a win or two more in conference and three or four more losses in ooc as they figure it out. If Gregory can get it turned around and the team reoriented maybe a NIT with a nice end of season finish ala Wichita last year is possible but yeah its rough in Tampa right now.

How many injuries do they have? Is it more than Yetna? They had like 3 dudes on the preseason teams. If that's true, and people thought you were an NCAA team, you shouldn't be non-competitive with BC and IUPUI, both at home.

Kiir was expected to play.
Yetna was the star.
They have to change the focus of the team to highlight the best advantages they have which is probably now on the perimeter, they might need to become a faster paced team relying on transition, using there guards and wings to create defensive pressure.

So, yes, just the one injury. I get it's a big piece.

Kiir left for personal reasons, but I put that in the injury catagory, i.e. an unexpected loss. I could be wrong but I think someone else had some issues but they may be playing.
The fact it's two post players is the big change and issue. Kiir could have been reasonably expected to fill in some post scoring and rebounding. Not sure if they have more than one experienced big right now. They do have some shooters and some good guards.

I'm guessing that whatever the issue are involving Kiir are serious enough that he will not be returning to Tampa otherwise he would not have left the team.

Little cousin said you could get "insta high" by being within 50 feet of him when he was at LSU

That depends a lot on what those reasons are, IMO.

I mean they expected him to play and now he is not. If it is for discipline reasons, or personal, or injury it affects the team the same, the loss of an expected contributer.
