RE: If Norvell were to take another job, what would be the best way to do it?
Mike Norvell and everything he does is of the utmost in class. I expect his departure when it comes to be a template for how is should be done.

Norvell: "if you are interested in me being your coach, contact me after the bowl game. If you really believe I am the guy you want to run your program, you can wait. If you choose not to wait, then it was not meant to be."
If I hear one whisper of Norvell discussing contracts or making agreements before the end of the bowl game, he can kiss my ass. I really don't think it will be much of a problem though.
I think we are past that point already. If I'm not mistaken he's already had a dinner or two.
Not saying he is gone but folks are in contact.

In season, coaches (head coaches to be exact) typically aren't in the discussions. Their agents are doing the talking on behalf of said coach. So essentially if Norvell is interested in a job he'll tell his agent and his agent will let whoever from whatever opening there is that his client is interested.

Is there a way that he could leave where we would wish him well vs. everyone being forever mad?
Don't steal the sno-cone machine. And don't tell us two days before you bolt that Memphis is where you want to be. And don't take our recruits.
I'm fine with anyone trying to elevate their position and will wish him well if/when he goes.
Yes, and you should add: Don't ask the basketball coach to pay your moving expenses.
