Southwest Baptist thread
The Bearcats are 2-1 in the early going. They are NCAA Division II, in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

They probably will start 6-10, 6-6, 6-5 across the front line, and can bring a couple more 6-6 players off the bench. All five starters scored in double figures in their last game against Ozark Christian.

Their leading scorer is 6-10 Damian Prgomet, a redshirt senior from Australia. He scores 14.1 ppg and shoots 58% from the field. Plus 8.7 rpg. You don't want to foul him, either, because he is 14 of 16 from the line for the year. Quinn Nelson is their gunner, with 34.8% from the arc and 10.7 ppg. Junior forward 6-6 Brady Smith also hits for 11.3 ppg.

As a team they shoot 44% overall and 35% from the arc. They are plus-6 on the boards.

This is a good game to get a few things fixed. Like perimeter shooting and perimeter defense. Need to keep the good FT shooting going.

Bankston 3 for 3 with 17:08 left in half. Sounds like they are having trouble handling him.

Sort of glad Southwest is keeping it close. Makes a lot better game, makes our kids stay focused.

They are making 3-pointers. That old perimeter defense bugaboo again.

I spoke to soon. Last 5 minutes absolute horrible concentration and effort. Darrell needs to light them up at half time

RE: Southwest Baptist thread
Lack of focus now! Offense is turning the ball over and not shooting good shots.
The defense is too relaxed. If you want to win games you have to play and take every opponent seriously D1 or NAIA!!!

RE: Southwest Baptist thread
Probably the worst half of ball of the season so far.

We should be up comfortably right now but instead we are down by 5 at the half.

It is simply a case of just beating ourselves right now. Nobody is taking the game seriously on the court. There is no hustle either. I'm seeing some guys jog slowly back on defense with no intent whatsoever.
We are clearly not thinking about offense right now anymore. What happened to going down to the big man? That is how we went off to a fast start. It's a way better strategy than shooting three's or doing these high tear drops. Going down low will also help create open 3 pointers in general. It'll be good for the development of shooting improvement but it's not going to happen when you're losing to a team like this.

Very disappointed and pretty mad at the effort so far. I hope Coach Walker will make this message clear to them and start some fire!
