RE: Orange Bowl problems
The ACC has got to be praying for a WF win on Saturday, giving them two potential possibilities for the Orange Bowl.

Let's be honest, the Big 10 or the SEC will be the main mover or tickets for that bowl this year. A, say, 10-2 or 11-1 Minnesota will sell over 20k if not over 30k. They'd be ecstatic to be there, as they should be.

But this problem the ACC is having is directly related to the success of the G5. The mass of G5 schools taking the positions around the 19-25 rankings is shoving them out, not to mention the wins the G5 is generating against them.

This is a fantastic harbinger of things to come.

RE: Orange Bowl problems
the ACC is in The Orange Bowl no matter what no one is replacing them

"ranked" does not limit a team to the top 25 and the contract is for an ACC team

I know.

If Clemson wins they will be looking at, from the ACC, a four loss team at best. If somehow, some way, WF pulls it out Clemson becomes the overwhelming favorite with a potential top-25 two loss school as a backup

I mean it’s not likely but that’s what the Orange Bowl has to be hoping for.

11-2? Who do you foresee App losing to? Plausible is Louisiana, probable is none. Troy would be considered a pretty major upset this season. Georgia State's starting QB is hurt. Texas State is Texas State.

App is looking favorable to finish 12-1. Wouldn't get an Orange Bowl. App's issue now is the Sun Belt's inexplicable decision to relegate their champion to the NOLA Bowl who's opposing tie-in is C-USA; C-USA who isn't contractually obligated to send their champ. It's been a race to the bottom since re-alignment between MAC and the C-USA as well.

4-5 UNC@Chap almost beat Clemson. Just saying.

I think UM and VT are playing the best ball right now outside of Clemson. Never mind the records, those 2 teams should give the OB opponent whomever it is a good game.

RE: Orange Bowl problems
I will be the first to admit, AAC has had good year. However, Orange Bowl is locked in with the ACC until 2025. If they move to an 8 team playoff, I see the major bowls changing big time. If the four teams were to stay, I would loved to Peach and Cotton payout like the others for the tie-ins.

During non Semi Years
Peach - ACC vs At-large
Orange - AAC vs At-Large
Sugar - SEC vs At-large
Cotton B12 vs At-Large
Rose B10 vs Pac 12
Fiesta At-Large vs At-Large
