Trevor is coming off an injury so Im sure he is playing his way back into shape. Wonder if it may be in his best interest to play more of a small ball 4 man role backing up Scott. He has decent size at 6-5 and a good frame. I think I recall him having some success playing the 4 last year, and could open up opportunities for him to get more open shots in this offense. I am rooting for TM, seems to have a good attitude would like to see him excel under Brannen.

RE: Moore
Did he even get a shot off tonight?
He hovered around the 3pt line the entire time he was in, and I don’t remember him getting off a single shot.

How much “game shape” is needed to stand at the 3pt line?

RE: Moore
I think he'd make a good small ball 4 if he can shoot. He looked as tentative and hesitant as he has the last couple years. He's consistently said to be our best 3 shooter in practice though, but that needs to translate to games.

He’s not a 4 in any shape or form. He’s a big shooting guard with questionable handles, questionable athleticism, questionable confidence and a questionable shot. He does hustle. But at this point in his career, it would be silly to say he was anything but overhyped. Hope he can change things this year, but the odds on that are shrinking every day.

I know hes been injured, but he still does not look ready to shoot when hes standing around the perimeter. He needs to watch Jaevin very carefully

With all due respect to him, he seems like a square peg in a round hole going back to Mick's time. I don't look for that to change. He's a slow, spot up three point specialist. Maybe he should consider transferring to find a program that is a better fit and it would open up another spot on the roster.

He’s gutting through a tear in his achilles...If he is the last guy on your eight guard rotation that is a fabulous 1st world problem to have.

He recovered from an Achilles tear.

If that tear was still there he would not be playing.

Correct, but it takes time to get in basketball shape and get your shot going since it is so leg dependent. I would guess he spends the next few weeks seeing mop up duty while he gets into basketball shape. With all the options in the fold, it will be interesting to see how the minutes shake out as the season progresses.

Able to play on it and being recovered are not the same thing. They have likely determined that he will not cause a rupture that would not have occurred otherwise without the surgery.

Partially torn tendons, especially that tendon, normally don’t just heal 100% for people who are highly active with just weeks of immobilization as a treatment.

I feel for the guy. I have a special place in my heart for people who have the talent and the desire, but just can't put it together on game day. It must be very frustrating.

KD did the same about 5 months ago...
