Anyways, I'm curious what happens if we lose at Memphis but then beat them in the Conference championship game.
I think Boise would probably go. They're clearly showing that there isn't enough separation between their resume and ours if they only have us 3 spots different right now. With another loss for either of us that's probably enough for them to justify sending Boise.
I just think it's funny that an unranked Wake Forest, Virginia, or Virginia Tech will probably get the ACC's Orange Bowl bid. That should be enough to start pissing off some of the figureheads.

A win is a win and keeps us in the hunt and in control of our own destiny but after the past couple of weeks i think the Committee has declared that we aren't a top 15 team even as teams in front of us continue to drop. if we move up one spot that would be generous but i wouldn't be surprised if they kept us at #17 and jumped Memphis and Iowa over us; nor would i be surprised if they dropped us one spot as they have been punishing lackluster Ws just sligthly less than Ls.
We keep telling ourselves "win and we're in" but i don't know if that's the case. The eye test isn't supposed to mean anything but we are still dealing with humans and they are less than impressed with us imo. Seeing what the committee does with Boise State this week will be a key indicator. if they jump iowa and memphis ahead of us, there really isn't too much daylight between us and boise state. if we both win out, i'm not 100% convinced that we get the cotton bowl bid.

Boise State needed overtime last week to win. UC crushed Marshall, Boise State barely won at home. Boise State also lost to BYU, a team USF actually beat. UC wins out which isn't easy the Cotton is locked up.

Agreed. Much more concerned about winning 3 games. Now, winning 2 of 3 will make the selection way too subjective.

We will likely also need to win 2 more games against top 25 opponents (Memphis and CCG), which would have to look impressive on the resume, regardless of how we look doing it.
That’s a long way away considering how we have played at times this year, especially on the road, with our second toughest road game of the season coming up at Memphis to end the year, only behind OSU.
