Ole Miss and UTK would both be quality wins. Especially UTK in Knoxvegas.

Memphis fans 1 week into the season: Boy we have a lot of talent, but with so much inexperience and a raw head coach I think we all knew we would take some lumps early. We could be a bear by March though.

You couldn't be more wrong. Most tiger fans knew there would be games like this one and there will be more. You're just trying to create a narrative that makes you feel better about your team and their irrelevance. Penny is 2-0 against Marshall and it just burns your fanbase up. WSU will never dominate this conference, they will never be the big dog again and as soon as the shox hate posters realize this, the better they will feel about their program.

Some of these posters must have selective amnesia in here and must have skipped in and out on what’s been thrown around here the last 18 months. It’s just in your nature to deflect.

The last half of your post just contradicted the first half of it. Congratulations.

Strange. Not sure if he was trying to be douchy or complementary to Oregon. Wonder what the context for this was?

Confused me too. Kinda sounded like he was saying they, Oregon, were better than he thought they would be, which would have been a bad mistake on his part.

Perplexed me too. Is he only evaluating teams based on their 100 year histories?

Where did Penny say that? Was that a pre or post-game comment? This is Penny's post-game interview and he said no such thing:

Uhhhh, I was paraphrasing Penny preseason predicting a national title based on what he has vs the film he's seen on dynasty programs.

Of which he omitted Oregon. Who he just lost to...

What drives me nuts about penny is that he and his staff never take any blame.

I’ve heard him say his game plan was perfect multiple times after losses.

When you say stuff like that, you’re just blaming the players and not having any self reflection at all.

It’s stops being confident and quickly turns to arrogance

You think what he says to the press and what he says to his players is the same?

Regardless, you could just as easily interpret what he said as that Memphis executed its game plan, but Oregon was better.

In total fairness, WSU had just spent 5 years actually doing something and was a Top 10 team that season, returning the coach and many players from the previous year.

We did lose the conference race and then flopped in the tourney for the first time in 6 years, and for that took some deserved flak. We also had some mods step in pretty hard on WSU fans, which is most certainly not happening with the Memphis trolls. I'm fine with it, btw, but if trolling is cool, then let it be cool, and unleash the kraken.

I really think it has to be mentally challenging for ex-players (really great players, like Penny) to be college head coaches. So much "I could have done that right" has to be running through their head all the time.
