I’ve heard him say his game plan was perfect multiple times after losses.
When you say stuff like that, you’re just blaming the players and not having any self reflection at all.
It’s stops being confident and quickly turns to arrogance

You think what he says to the press and what he says to his players is the same?
Regardless, you could just as easily interpret what he said as that Memphis executed its game plan, but Oregon was better.
Last year he said the same the stuff... the coaches did an awesome job, the game plan was perfect...
You just don’t hear that stuff from elite coaches. Tom izzo isn’t going to say his game plan perfect when his team lost to UK
Your game plan was not perfect. I think the offensive sets leave a lot to be desired and a guy like jay wright or Tom izzo would be getting more from this kind of talent.
He’s a 2nd year coach who acts like he’s John wooden with the game plan

At least Memphis had the no. 1 recruiting class to back it up. Cincy fans would also be exulting if they had that class.
WSU came in here thinking they would dominate the AAC just because they'd dominated the Valley once Creighton left.

Exactly. At least you have a website ranking ranking going for you, and not 5+ prior years of actually being nationally relevant.

You don't think the no. 1 recruiting class is relevant? I understand once the season gets going, the play is what counts, but certainly expectations can and should be high for Memphis, and much of the national press agrees with that.
Wichita came in here with nothing except dominance in a Creighton-depleted Valley. When Memphis joined the AAC in 2013, no Memphis fan thought Memphis would dominate, even though for years we'd dominated in Cusa.

I really think it has to be mentally challenging for ex-players (really great players, like Penny) to be college head coaches. So much "I could have done that right" has to be running through their head all the time.
That is a great point. And so many don't need the money and, after a while, just say the hell with it.

If rankings are what matter... WSU came in with a preseason #7 AP ranking. So apparently whatever factors WSU came in with mattered. Reached as high as #3. TBD if Memphis can reach those heights.

All fan bases have trolls, and I suspect the ones that post here probably aren't a fair representation of the fan base. *shrug*

In total fairness, WSU had just spent 5 years actually doing something and was a Top 10 team that season, returning the coach and many players from the previous year.
We did lose the conference race and then flopped in the tourney for the first time in 6 years, and for that took some deserved flak. We also had some mods step in pretty hard on WSU fans, which is most certainly not happening with the Memphis trolls. I'm fine with it, btw, but if trolling is cool, then let it be cool, and unleash the kraken.
Wait, you're saying fan bases who are represented (*cough* protected *cough*) by moderators of the same fan base don't treat their own fans the same way as others?
Fortunately, when the team's improbable run starts to lose steam, most of the bandwagoners who start most of the crap miraculously disappear...

Not trolling, same thing with Memphis when Louisville, Marquette, etc., were in Cusa. We didn't dominate the league till they left Cusa for the BE.

Domination of a poor conference doesn't define a program if they have backed it up by winning in the non-con and in the NCAA tournament. Saying 'nothing except dominance of the Valley' is either willfully ignorant, or trolling.

Strange. Not sure if he was trying to be douchy or complementary to Oregon. Wonder what the context for this was?

Confused me too. Kinda sounded like he was saying they, Oregon, were better than he thought they would be, which would have been a bad mistake on his part.
Could be a message for Jalen Green?

Is this an actual quote? Someone said it wasn't actually from the postgame?

half the quote is fake, he was mocking memphis
he twisted the "memphis will win a national championship" quote
"What do I know? I know what's at stake and I know what's out there. I know teams like Michigan State, Duke, Kentucky, Kansas, all the usual suspects. I've studied the film. I know who they are"
that part is real... the full quote says memphis is like those teams and can win a title
the oregon part is made up...likely to mock memphis, saying they are like duke but can't beat oregon

You don’t interpret things very well. The one fan that called for domination was quickly banned because all of the Memphis fans started crying to the mods.
And nobody was gloating about dominating the Valley. What WSU did in March is what mattered. Surely you aren’t that dense.
