WBB Weekly week ending Nov. 16, beginning Nov. 17
I'm doing these kinda half-a-- this season because our WBB team plays some Sunday games, like last Sunday's win over NDSU in OT, and this Sunday game at Colorado State.
Re Sunday: tipoff 1 p.m. No TV listed yet, but probably the usual radio suspects.
CSU is 3-0 (Charon State, Northern Colo. and Western Colo.) with a game Weds at Idaho before the NIU game ... They had 2 at home, average attendance 2,322 ... According to their website, Coach Ryun (correct sp) Williams has built the team on defense. They also forced 30 turnovers vs. Western Colo. ... Their leading scorer from last year, Lore Devos was injured in Game 3 and is/was out (lower leg injury, they said). ... Rams have a lot of height available (1 player at 6-3, 4 at 6-2, 3 at 6-1, 1 a 6-0 = 9 of 15 players) ... e.g. Devos at 6-1 is listed as a guard.
Another tough one on the road, vs. a team that has some stiff defense and height.
Re. NIU, haven't heard anything about injury to Ally May. Radio said ankle, during NDSU broadcast.

RE: WBB Weekly week ending Nov. 16, beginning Nov. 17
Repeat/copied post from another thread from Sunday's 74-68 OT win at NDSU ...
Some stats:
Points: Woods-20, Nikitiniate-18, Blackwell-13, Woollacott-10, Starks-7
Rebounds: Blackwell-7, Woollacott-8
Some notes; Nikitiniate hit to tie with 3 seconds left to send game to OT ... started in place of May (ankle?) ... imo hard to read player names with names below the numbers (tho NDSU doesn't have back-of-jersey names at all) ... noted once when Carlsen was giving play signal, NIU player standing behind her giving a different signal ... no one under the basket several times when Northern took a long shot ... great steadiness and determination down the stretch.
A minor irritation: the official website story on the come-from-behind win over NDSU leads with a picture of NIU vs. Western Michigan. Can't someone take one lousy pic at a game with a pocket digital camera and use that?!

I have no update on Aly May’s ankle injury but she hurt it toward the end of the Harvard game and as ankles will do I’m sure it stiffened a little later as she was off the ankle but again I have nothing official. I’m thinking she plays this Sunday.
